So, who thinks Burning Man will never recover? I think the ship is taking on water and going down.

It's over for BMORG, but Burning Man will continue without it, and probably be better.

police along the road for 2019?
What's the situation like on 447 this year with regards to police presence? It is going to be like 2018 with lots of people getting pulled over? Anyone have actual reports of what is happening yet?

art setup/teardown volunteers
Looking for a few more people to help with a large scale LED art project, if you can arrive early and stay late (Monday, Sep 3 at least). Must already have a ticket. Message me for details, thanks!

Re: Vehicle Pass Problem
I think you can safely assume you will be able to buy a Vehicle Pass at Will Call.
BMORG has never said there will be a limit to how many they sell. It is all just a scare tactic to try to get people to carpool and make them extra cash while pretending not to raise prices.

Re: Exodus 2014 - how long did it take you?
I believe the short entry and exodus times had much to do with the nice weather. Without all the dust it was much easier for people to see where they were going.

Re: New car fees and more great ideas
If you try to say this years theme quickly... "caravansary"... it comes out sounding like "car and vans fee".
Is this a coincidence?

Re: New car fees and more great ideas
No, I couldn't find anything on the blog saying the state is charging BM for road repairs. That sounds ridiculous if it is true. Burners buy tons of gasoline, (among other things) in Nevada and I'm sure some of the tax collected pays for road repairs. Maybe they could use some of that money to pave ...

New car fees and more great ideas
Well, this new car access fee is great, it will reduce cars and raise about $1.4 million extra for BM to do who knows what with. I'd like to suggest a few more fees: There are just too many art cars on the playa and it is dangerous to get around. Let's have a $100/artcar DMV registration fee to cut ...

Eliminate ravers to fix ticket problem
The problem with tickets and scalpers can only be fixed by having more tickets available than people that want to attend. Since the BLM controls attendance, the only solution is to reduce the number of people that WANT to attend. I propose we do this by banning all the large scale sound camps. The p...

electric skateboard
After 6 BM's of riding a recumbent bicycle, this year I brought an electric skateboard. I had a ton of fun riding it around, and a number of people thanked me for not having a gas engine. It had front and rear lighting for night time use. I felt a bit "closer" to pedestrians than when on a bike. As ...

camps you don't want to be near: Brain Wash & Set
I think we should start listing the camps that were too loud, so people will be aware of them next year. I was camped across the street from Brain Wash & Set at 7:30 & Ego. These guys set up a large disco dome and were way over the sound limits on Thurs, Fri and Sat nights. I will add one good thing...

LOST: black wild west hat
I lost a black hat in the deep playa after the temple burn.
The wind probably blew it to the trash fence.
Was a Wild West style hat with initials K.P. on it.
thanks,
Mark

helpiing out
OK, I have a volunteer. However, having an extra one or a backup is always good. If you want to help out, come look for me on the playa Saturday Aug 27, I will start around noon-2pm or so. The location is around 7:30 and 500 feet from the Esplanade. Look for a silver/grey van with a raised roof. I a...
