Re: Sober Designated MV Driver volunteering

Hello,

You may have already connected with Art Cars drive, but if not, we have a large car that we are bringing to the playa for the first time and would love to talk with you about possibly driving it for a shift. What a lovely gift to give.

Any ideas for insurance off-playa?

We have a large MV which we are registering as an RV. We are hoping to take it to a few other events over the course of the year. Does anyone have advice on how to get liability insurance for an art car, registered as an RV?

Insurance for street legal MV

Anyone have advice on insurance for a street legal mutant vehicle? We are hoping to bring it to other regional events, so need insurance year round. It will be registered with the"other" DMV as an RV.

Thanks for any guidance!

Re: Anyone used a fiscal sponsor for their Mutant Vehicle?

Oh and just to clarify, I'm definitely not asking about raising money from a "sponsor" I have already raised the money for the project, but I'd love to be able to have the contributors make their contributions tax deductible since this is a public art project.

Re: Anyone used a fiscal sponsor for their Mutant Vehicle?
Are you talking about a "fiscal agent" a 501(C)(3) nonprofit that can accept tax deductible contributions on your behalf in exchange for say 15% administrative fee?
Meant to include this in my response. That's exactly what I'm asking about. I've worked with "fiscal s...

Anyone used a fiscal sponsor for their Mutant Vehicle?

It's been suggested that we work with a fiscal sponsor to manage the funds for the art car we are building. Has anyone had experience working with a fiscal sponsor for an art car?

Re: Official "Not Awarded Tix" Thread

I think this ticket system is a total sham. Why didn't BMORG either make the tickets non-transferable (so they could ONLY be sold through the official ticket exchange) or just keep the first come first serve system so those who really, really wanted to go could go? This new system is a scalper's ful...

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012

Just to add one more voice to the fray: 1. Our theme camp was just about to start planning and gathering funds for a gorgeous new public art car. But now with so much uncertainty as to whether our key members will win tickets in the lottery, how can we plan, spend time and money on our camp and the ...

Looks like this needs more supporters!

I just went to the kickstarter page for the next sculpture by Marco, the artist who built last year's amazing Bliss Dance. But he still needs to raise quite a bit of cash to build a sculpture for this year! All that steel and lighting, transporting it to and fro BRC...there is a lot involved in art ...

Driving permit to install art on Playa?

We have an art installation for the Playa that we are going to register at the Artery when we arrive. We will need to drive the components out to the playa to install. Do we get the driving permit at the Artery when we register the piece, or if not, can some one advise on how we get the permit to dr...

Most Definitely

It's been decades since I was a mini ballerina and I'd love to re-learn how to do a real pirouette. If it's meant to be, I'll see you spinning on the playa and you'll teach me how to twirl.
