Re: about me
Hey, ya big FREAK! How the hell are you? *hug* We were taking your name in vain on Tribe t'other day.... Dang it--where on tribe? Jeez, I couldn't even begin to tell you at this point...it's been ages. (I think RedTux was involved with the discussion somehow, though.) The fact that they don't have ...

Re: see "Sexual Violence" thread
Might be nice to see a few more. Anyone know what's the ratio of male to female Rangers? Rangers are like an engineering school.. Guys WAY outnumber women. I have heard some stories about how some of the guys are such horn dogs that they end up scaring away some female Rangers, however I not not kn...

BLM Officers
I worked closely with one female BLM officer during the event. I can't remember her name right now, but she ROCKED! She was there any time we needed some law enforcement back on the perimeter. I definately hope she comes out again next year, it was a pleasure working with her.

Question for any gatekeepers here-- What would you say is the male female ratio for gate crashers? I'm guessing it's predominately male. Just wondering. While I don't have hard and fast numbers. I *believe* it's mostly males. However on the perimeter you find a few couples. As to what the numbers a...

Re: Do I hear a second?
<snip> Pay extra for your ticket. Buy early, pay double. Buy an extra ticket and give it away. If you can afford it, pay it forward.<snip> Some people already do this on a small scale. However on a larger scale there is the *potential* that it might encourage others to do the same next year because...

i say hand the stowaways over the authorities. if they tried to cruise in over the open playa and the BLM/Washoe/Pershing LEOs caught them <snip> if the downside is "oh, now i have to buy a ticket, o damn," what's the deterrent to attempting to gatecrash? as a gatecrasher, your worst case scenario ...

Ideally, if you have people who are or are attempting to enable someone sneaking into the event then they are accessories to the problem. In short, they are participating just as much in breaking the social contract as the person actually sneaking in. There should be no distinction between the two....

We picked up some hitchikers in Pyramid Lake <snip> Around Gerlach one of them decided it was a good time to tell us he planned on stowing away because he didn't have a ticket. <snip> We reallllllllly wanted to kick these guys out because the were super-leeches and not even hiding the fact, but the...

How many people have traveled to a foreign country where you have few rights? How many people have been pulled over by a police officer or the military at gunpoint and been asked for a bribe? It is not a fun experience. However it is one that made me more aware of what we do have here. For the most ...

The time I give to the city...
It never ceaces to amaze me how much people bitch and moan about gate and BM related activities, and how much false information is out there. First off the head of DPW is not female, it is Will Roger, aka Mr. Klean. So whoever the head lady in charge of DPW was getting people in for free is not true...
