I'm guilty of bringing an RV this year, mainly because my newbie GF wanted to come and she'd probably have killed me after Thursdays dust storm if she didn't have a place to get outta the dust. Sure, dust is part of BM and we should all be able to live with it, but YMMV. Here's a breakdown on what I...

How hard would it be to come to BM and not show off? That's the whole of the gifting economy and the brilliance of a corporation to make money off from people willing to forget they're lining the pockets of whackos like Larry Harvey (and his big Ganesh). I say return to the barter economy. You wanna...

1. Make Burning Man a not-for-profit. This doesn't mean people can't get paid for their efforts. There are people who do this full time and should be paid for putting the event together. The artists and theme camps are what the people come to see and should be compensated (or at least given free pas...

Ha-Ha-Ha, you've fallen to one of the classic blunders. The first of course is never begin a land war in Asia...but second and only slightly less well known is this: Burning Man is a city made of people, not some Utopia made of dreams and glow sticks. There are tons of invite-only places around Burn...

Yeah, it's really sad you got run off the road, but I'm with alot of the people in here in that you were in the wrong. 1. Don't pass more than one car 2. Be patient during the Exodus, it saves pain Of course, I do believe that once most people pack their bags and leave their camp they put BM behind ...
Whoa there!!! Color has nothing to do with it. The voltage is what matters. That site has their LEDs of different colors at different voltages, but that is not a rule that goes for all other LEDs.
Yeah, you're right as I didn't include all information. I was basically referring to ha...

LEDs are resistors!!!
If you're burning all white LEDs, there shouldn't be an issue. The only reason you'd really need to put resistors on your LEDs is if you have different colors in your circuit. You should only need on resistor for the whole circuit. Now, that being said, you should check the voltage rating on your LE...

LOST: Didgeridoo
Well, more like left behind as a really large piece of MOOP. Sorry if anyone ran over it. This would have been somewhere between 11-12 on the outer playa, possibly between the temple and the Uchronian thing/waffle (more towards 11). I saw a message at the Info center saying someone at Otter Camp had...

Lost: Didgeridoo
Large bore bloodwood eucalyptus didgeridoo lost on the outer playa somewhere between 10 and 12. There's a possibility it was found by someone in Otter Camp as there was a note at the info center but I got to the camp too late (or just never found it).

Re: Advice appreciated and desperately needed.
My questions are: Will a small inexpensive tent work as long as I stake it down with rebar or extra long stakes? I only had a tent (with extra long stakes thoroughly pounded into the ground...see your neighbors). Truth be told I only slept in it once, it was really more storage than anything. Is a ...

Saturday morning a friend and I rode to the edge of the playa. You know, that one edge! OK, basically straight out 12 O'Clock with a slight skew towards morning. We were hunting for some mythical sunrise bar supposedly out there on the edge. I'm not sure we ever found it, but we did find any number ...

I was warned by alot of people that it can be depressing leaving BM and in some cases they were right, but in other cases not so much. Though this was my first burn, I'd known about BM for about 9 years and always found excuses not to go (all of them really good BTW). This year I had no good excuses...

I've been an electronic music fan for years now and even I had a hard time with the music from time to time, but knew about it before I came and knew it'd be something I'd have to deal with. While I would think that most people who completely blast their music above "normal" standards (I still felt ...
