I need to transport 16 EMT conduits (8x8',8x10ft) for the shade structure and they fit fine to my roof-top cross bars on SUV, hanging only 2 FT behind the car - I use duct tape to make sure they do not move within "group" and then strap to tight it down in 2 groups to both sides of the car.
