quoted for awesomeness. though I still refuse to get a haircut.

Prior to reading the Pynchon book I mentioned above, Infinite Jest was both the most difficult and the most rewarding book I'd ever finished. Talk about a work of art that can be studied ... I spent a few months reading the book itself and even longer reading various essays and interpretations of it...

"Shablagoo!!"

I just finally finished Thomas Pynchon's Against The Day - it was the longest read of my life. Started it on Boxing Day 2009, finished it on Day of the Dead 2010, including a couple of extended breaks when I felt my brain starting to melt. That book also wound up well traveled, as I took it on a wor...

Is it too much for me to hope that the term 'sakeing' implies rollerskating while drunk on sake?

where is this peaceful environment you speak of??
unless you're planning to do a death metal camp in Kidsville / not sure that'd fly though

I've heard that too, but just based on the people with a suspicious nature here on eplaya, I again would find it hard to believe that people could be roaming the playa with bolt cutters and not at least be questioned. JK During my first year my friend's combo lock jammed and wouldn't open. She went...

doesn't satisfy your need exactly but here's a set from Subvert at this year's Shambhala fest here in British Columbia where he throws in a mix of Zombie for the finale:

Once I thought I was watching Phish play live at a festival, for about an hour or so, but it turned out to be the Grateful Dead without Garcia, so just The Dead. It was pretty boring. I've been forced to listen to a bunch of their stuff (Phish, that is) and the only thing that I ever really enjoyed ...

wow, Cock & Waffle, haven't heard of them; wonder if they're affiliated with Porn & Eggs?

I like the Joe Pesci voice idea. It immediately struck me that Pesci starred with Daniel Stern as the two bumbling criminals in the Home Alone movies, and Daniel Stern was also the psychological voice of the adult version of the kid in the old tv series The Wonder Years, so how about adding a sober,...

Toronto, across the lake from you Simon yet a different country.

It's a city of cold love, and thus I manage to be happy to have left and still find reasons to adore it every time I return.

Not a bad place to grow up!

Who wants to meet up and have a 30 beers in 24 hrs party-on-the-playa? Ties in nicely with the frat house theme next year! Okay, I used to live on Frat Row in Chico. And that gives me the horrors. Alcohol poisoning is something I'd rather not see on the playa. Yeah, you're probably not really going...

In my experience Europe->N America flights are cheapest January -> March, aka 'The Dead Zone'.

I turn 30 before next Burn as well. Who wants to meet up and have a 30 beers in 24 hrs party-on-the-playa? Ties in nicely with the frat house theme next year!
