Re: Can I leave a ticket for a friend at will call?

Do you mean leave a physical ticket for them?
That would be incredibly foolish.
I wouldn’t leave it anywhere.

Lol... people DO pound drums all night.
Peace and tranquility have very little to do with Burning Man.

Re: Virgin from SoCal

You couldn’t begin to drag enough solar panels out there to power Burning Man. Then there’s the whole large scale burning of stuff. Plus the huge amount of trucking stuff all the way out there and back from all over the country. Don’t kid yourself that Burning Man even pretends to be a “green” event...

2015 was actually cold during the day, especially Saturday. Nights were super freezing-ass cold.
It was a generally miserable fucking weather year.
Always plan for hot AND for cold.

Wow, that could be the most inaccurate thing ever said about Burning Man! Burning Man is and always has been packed with electricity... amplified sound... lights... lasers... sparks... motors... There’s a HUGE amount of tech and electricity in Black Rock City. I think you’ve mistaken the very high-t...

Re: Please share your generator baffle designs.

Ironically your estimate is pretty close, a car like that does typically idle through 1/4 to 1/3 gallons/hr... but I fail to see how vehicle speed during a coast down test, which is mostly a factor of rolling resistance, has anything to do with testing static-state hourly consumption. *Facepalm* I ...

Re: To all you assholes with generators,

Generators, even loud ones, are allowed at Burning Man. Refusing to appease the neighbors noise complaints will not result in LEO contact or intervention. BRC is a loud place. There will be music you don’t always like, at very loud volume. There will be noise. There will be loud parties. All these t...

You know what’s cool, Milwaukee even has a weed wacker that uses the tool batteries. I’m probably gonna get one. One less thing I have to mess with, grab it in spring after putting it away wet last year, press the button and it goes.

Finding someone who will let you plug in your charger to charge your battery isn’t unlikely at all.

Re: Electronic Community VS Physical event

Requests like this are generally met with extreme negatives. The reason for that is everything that ever gets written about Burning Man or burners by someone who doesn’t go themselves is about 104% wrong, inaccurate, misses the mark, doesn’t ever portray things the right way. If you ever go, you’ll ...

I’ve recently suffered a devastating loss of someone... we all chose to make next year the year to go to the desert and have the celebration of life and healing. You ARE a camp. Why commit yourselves to camping with people you don’t know?
There’s such a thing as “camp drama”. You don’t need it.
Go, have fun, make friends, and by the time the week is out you’ll probably have an idea who you’d like to camp with next time. Or not!

Over-engineering shade structures = winning in BRC.
While bringing the charger and extra batteries is great, I bet one battery does all that with power to spare.

Remember that the max sleeping capacity includes folding the sofa and the eating seats and table into beds. The RV is all but unuseable when all the beds are in use.
So, make sure to figure on that.

Absolutely bring the charger. Even if you haven’t got power, people around you will. Generally, if you just want to charge some batteries people with juice will be happy to oblige. Multiple adapters and sockets is a good idea not only in case of breakage but things get lost. I’d suggest since you’ll...

They also sell a King Kong big daddy impact driver that will do truck lu...

And remember, if you get a Huffy Cranbrook - that specific model only - you can donate it to the Yellow Bike program on your way out. It must be the correct bike because they need all parts to interchange in order to manage the fleet. Bring a crescent wrench and pliers and such, and some grease. The...
