Re: Fuel Question

I already figured out multiple solutions. Bringing a truck was just the cheapest.

The fire would be more like this:

Re: Fuel Question

The rules related to BLM, sheriff, rangers, etc... all of those I already cleared. The only one that does not give feedback is the BRC fuel. In their email they say they will be back working in March. But it is middle March and nothing yet. I am not bragging about camp budget. I am just trying to in...

Re: Fuel Question

The previous camp design had a 100 KVA generator and very bad power grid. I am suggesting a new layout with a 250 KVA generator running for 24/7. Considering that it usually has a nominal PF of 0.8 it can supply up to 200KW. The reality will be more like a PF of 0.7 or 0.6. So I expect only 150 KW w...

Re: Fuel Question

5K gallons are for 8 days of event + 3 days of construction before the gates open + 10% safety. This for everything, vehicles, generator and compressor. If I had the freedom to bring my own fuel truck I would guarantee myself 110% and would be cheaper than BRC option considering the truck rental and...

Re: __CAMP XX__ GOA Culture__

My points: Be realistic about the number of people if it is 20 that is 100% than plan for it not 70. Negative points Big $$$$ camp - you can make it cheaper so you can invest on the gifting and interaction. Big Risk of you not renting RVs in time. RVs are like a mafia, they overcharge you and abuse ...

Re: Help with 36'X30' EMT conduit flat top shade structure

You can use a huge Military Net Camo as shade and first barrier against dust storm. http://www.camonettingstore.com/24x40-ultralite-camo-netting/ Then on the sides you just need poles, cables and Tarp. It is like setting up half a tent. This gives you a full cover from the sun and protection against...

Re: Fuel Question

So if they are not organized enough to plan ahead of time and provide the right fuel what do I do? Rental companies get really mad if you do not use the right fuel. To not run out of fuel I can make alternative plans, however that implies sacrifices to the infrastructure. I really wish they could gu...

OSS policy change

You guys are creating Monopolies and making the life of overseas people more difficult.
It is basic economics, plus internationals depend on service providers to build and transport their art or camps and a million other things due to us laws.

Fuel Question

Are we allowed to have our own 5000 gal. fuel truck? If you are used to diesel engines you might know that industrial equipment cannot run on any diesel above B5. It damages the engine. I do not know which fuel they provide at BRC and they do not answer so I wanna bring my own. Red Diesel is also a ...

Re: Sharing Large Generator

Ok, I am just trying to save camp money for their main project. I am new to Burning Man, I am part of a camp, I am great with spreadsheets and planning. I picked their budget and I am making it more efficient. Which is by the way I so far found a way to cut our expenses in 50% and still increase the...

Re: Sharing Large Generator

I will be gifting noise-free cheap electricity. Fuel, insurance, transportation, and rental cost is not free. Trying to keep low cost i would still have some loss. If I had the option to, I would share the cost. RV is extremely inefficient, noisy, and they charge extra per hour. Campers, well it is ...

Sharing Large Generator

Hello, I have plans to bring a large industrial Generator and create a power grid. I am currently creating an excel sheet with lots of companies and quotes for different sizes of generator. Since, in summary, energy generation gets cheaper as you increase the size of the generator. I would like to s...

Re: Comfortably camping

Everybody knows that in any theme camp there are lots of different roles. Not everybody does the logistics. There are also lots of different levels of skills. The only thing everybody really does together is sharing the expenses and constructing the camp. It is not self reliance if you pay a company...

Dr. Pyro story is priceless. hahahahaha All of them chip their RV and it is so easy to jam, or access the data, or alter the data. Very illegal btw, never do it. Anyway, it is always better to tell the truth, and there are lots of options from dealers to private owners. I am doing searches almost ev...

Re: Comfortably camping

I believe the whole argument is about this point: The problem arises when some of those people aren't really involved in actively planning and building the camp, and escalates further if that means their biggest contribution to the camp is money. What you've described sounds a lot like the latter. I...

MyLarry always made a wonderful comfy camp for us. We would share and help out when and where we could. My camp has never had dues. Re: RV Rental budget for 7 days

Last year providers: https://burningman.org/event/camps/deliveries/outside-services-providers/ My idea is to get a motorhome class C in another state and drive my way there. Tell the truth. You need your personal space and this trip is a soul healing.
It is so natural and normal in an adult couple for both parts needing a personal space. This is actually how some couples last longer.

Re: Renting a Moving Truck in Reno

I am looking for the same thing and I thought about looking into renting from a neighbor state and driving the way there. You get a better deal for equipment as well.

You can try California and Oregon.

It's my first time so I am just saying from what I searched online.
