Gifting is a fabric of Burning Man and one our theme camp Black Rock Syndicate is going to make a staple of our camp for years to come. There are lot's of places that offer open bars and give away plenty of booze, but not many places have other things to offer. One thing that was received very well ...

Billboard vinyl. Here is why: 1. It's cheap or free. 2. It's VERY sturdy and easy to fabricate. 3. Almost always white it's reflective and has a very high UV protection rating (I'm guessing) I've covered my domes and shade structures with Tyvek, Poly tarps (both white and silver) canvas, parachute a...

so, yer page says $250 to register pre-playa (understandable i guess), or $300 to register ON-PLAYA. i thought there was some thing about taking money on playa for anything. i just don't understand how someone who hasn't registered before they get on playa could be ok to camp with you for $300. one ...

I've been using deep cycle batteries for the last four years on the playa. I can probably answer your questions, but first off I need to know more about your charger. Charge cycles vary depending on what type of charge you want to do. Most chargers have different measurements for charging, which are...

I'll let you know what works for me, but I'm going to get two types of PVC cement tomorrow and order some stuff called H-66 vinyl cement.

Are you serious??? That's your solution??? I hate to be rude to the two of you have nothing better to do? I'll leave all the other comments to myself, as you two obviously don't have that control. First off I've looked all over Tribe and Eplaya, and yes I've found SOME information on this subject; a...

Best advesive for Vinyl tarps???
I'm looking to glue two large 20mm billboard tarps together. I've heard that regular PVC glue melts the vinyl together nicely, but I'd rather hear from someone who has actually done this before?

This is a subject I've looked into, but unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. I built a 32' dome and I'm currently working covering for it. I've decided to use a white poly tarp for the cover and I intend to have the five sections of cover go from the top (center all the way to the bottom) c...

A 32' dome in Springfield Illinois... News?... Really?
I've been working on this project for about two weeks now, and today I finally got this dome erected! I've been on this site quite a bit the last few weeks sucking out all the information I could about constructing a geodesic dome. Thanks to everyone who has posted information on the subject of dome...

Seems like you can find a post on this subject every year. Just curious, how many early passes did you request in relation to how many you got? How do you even have an early entry pass already? I thought they acknowledge who gets the passes in August? I've got two domes, scaffolding towers, lighting...

Here is my die that I cut and fabricated, and the press I bought from Harbor and Freight. Between that and the welding I had to do on the press itself I should have just dropped the extra $100 and purchased the 20 ton press. Ok, I've got a few more questions. What do you guys prefer on bolt types; carriage bolts or hex bolts? I've landed on 5/16 3" bolts for all the connections. Is that too long, should I go with 2 1/2"? What about my bolt length on the lower part of the dome? I don't want long bolts sticking out 1", af...

Rules for delivery of goods to the playa
I was kicking around the idea of having potable water delivered to the playa. We wouldn't use it for drinking, but I've got a thirsty water misting system that can spray up to 9 gallons of water an hour. I'm looking for around 400 gallons of water, but only if it makes financial sense. I've got the ...
