Gamelan X seeks SF Bay Area horn players

GAMELAN X -- the only 3X champion of the Friday night MARCHING BAND MARCH OFF! -- is seeking a couple San Francisco Bay Area-based trombone players (or a boner and a trumpet player) to collaborate with us on our new evolution: "Sambalan X" This will be a new fusion of Gamelan and Samba. In addition ...

Re: 2012 Experiences with Police

My bus was pulled over after passing through the greeter station just after sunrise Monday morning. The LEO said he couldn't see our registration. (Hmmm - It's the big red paper taped up in the back window per DMV specifications) He asked our driver if we had any weapons and then ordered everyone of...

Re: Artist/Engineer looking to help out a camp

Hi Foxrover, Are you still camp-less? We're putting together a pretty sweet camp of around 60 people (mostly musicians and dancers) and can probably squeeze one more in. :) The reason I found your post, though, was because you said you're a guitarist. Check out my post and let me know if you're inte...

Great guitarist needed for prog-rock gig in center camp

We have the drums, bass, percussion, and vocals. We have the music. We have the Tuesday evening 6pm booking. What we need is a guitarist who is a fast independent learner to complete our super-group. It doesn't matter where you are, geographically. You just need to be awesome. We'll have 1 rehearsal...

P.P.S. The HeeBeeGeeBee website says this:
Our goal is to place the camp on the "D" street between 4:00 and 5:00.

Do you have excessive reserved camp space?

I play percussion with Gamelan X and sing with the Burning Opera. A bunch of us are converging into a camp conglomeration and looking for a place to call home! Last year we split a big block of real estate with Mud Skippers when they realized at the last minute they had too much land and not enough ...

This will be my 6th burn in a row and I'm trying to figure out how I can afford to go.

Does anyone need a volunteer for a performance or other creative project that would be able to exchange a ticket for services rendered?

Do you prefer 395 to the 5? I get about the same mileage with my bus. The only thing I'm really worried about is curvy downhills. I get the bus professionally inspected every year, of course, but a runaway bus still haunts my dreams sometimes. Although, in the dreams sometimes it starts flying... :D

FLATTEST route from Los Angeles to BRC?

I drive an old school bus. Uphills = 15mph and the big downhills of the Sierra Nevadas are pretty scary.

Any ideas about a flatter way?
