Re: Fewer people getting tickets?
Unfortunately that stuff has always been an integral part of it. It wouldn’t be BRC without the big oontz. Too many people found out about it. Time to do something else. You're right, it wouldn't be BRC, it would be better. There are hundreds of EDM festivals out there, but when 40% of your populat...

Re: Fewer people getting tickets?
Keep an eye on your local Craigslist about 2 weeks before the event. Last year in the Seattle Craigslist ticket section, tickets and vehicle passes started coming up for sale (at face value) days prior to the burn. It's hard to invest months of planning, work and hundreds of dollars on art and them...

Re: 2018 Ticket Information Is Out!
I probably should know this, but what was the purpose of creating a Burner Profile as a prerequisite for purchasing tickets? It seemed everyone in the waiting room was randomly admitted in to the purchase page. Was part of the purpose originally designed to try to balance out newbies with veterans? ...

Loved the Playa Bumper Cars, red moon, the kind soul at Dusty Swan who gifted me two appliance bulbs our bar's antique lamps needed but got broke in the container (your name was Ludo?), Steely Dan Happy Hour and singing my ass off, Wet Spot Saloon, Goodwill Playa Fairy camp, Hashing for the first ti...

Aside from having a little playa meltdown this year, my worst was the bunch of Brits who decided to do whippets out in the open in our camp while we were doing one of our dye sessions at Dye With Dignity. I don't care what you do in YOUR camp, but keep your law-enforcement-search-bait outta my camp...

oh. Dear. God. This has been my favorite thread EVER! . No, I have never installed the balls loose, but I cannot think of any reason it wouldn't work. You can install ball bearings loose without any problems. It can be a little tricky when threading the axle through the hub, but use really thick axle grease. My front wheel actually rolls smother witho...

Re: Experience with serving alcohol?
I think it is silly and a bit adverse to the whole Burning Man experience for a bar to card EVERYONE. Card just those who appear to be close to the 21 age limit. I'm 51 and I am not carrying around my drivers license in my tutu, or whatever costume I happen to have on. If I were 25, I would be so th...

That's not entirely accurate. At BDC&WB you must be over 21 unless you are accompanied by a legal adult/guardian. We have had the LEOs haunt our camp on the lookout for contributing to the delequency of minors by serving alcohol. So if you're under 21, please go elsewhere. I think Kidsville is stil...

Well. Lover, there is a search function on eplaya. It's in the middle of the first line of orange type at the top of the page. It's kinda frustrating, but you could try "engine" as a search term and limit it to the Q&A, Tips and Tricks sub-forum. I'm sure that you would find lots of information. No...

And believe me with the passive attitudes I see here, so willing to bend over to be fucked a little harder, that day is coming. I guess this is how any event must become once it gets really big. Katie! Welcome home! Another thing to consider, besides your many talents, abilities and open mindedness is: 1. You must be 21 or older to camp with any theme camps that serve alcohol. 2. You must be 18 or older to camp with any theme camps of a sexual nature. 3. Openminded is an extremely relative...

Re: this is not a rumor
Actually the layout of burning man is supposed to represent the Egyptian symbol of Horus. (the Bird). The 10 - 2 clock circle would be the raised wings and the two streets at 5:30 and 6:30 are the legs of the bird. Without citation to something other than Christian Conspiracy sites, I'm going to as...

Drawingablank draws some pretty creative ideas for gifting. Well done! I would skip the incense sticks not so much from a fire hazard standpoint, but as a real Moop hazard. If only 10% of those sticks gets dropped on the ground, that's a thousand little sticks that have to be picked up. Two years ag...

repetition can be okay. Every year the recycled art will be new to a lot of people, including those who went the year before and somehow missed it. Bliss Dance bears a strong resemblance to Passage, (the Mother and Child at 2005's Burn) and something similar has been back every year since. The artis...

Mischief Camp did something similar in 2008 and 2009 by setting up fake internet kiosques in front of their camp on Esplanade. One kiosque was labeled BRC Webcam, the other was labeled Free Porn. Each computer greeted the viewer with a display that said "Welcome to Mischief Camp, right-click to star...
