Re: Rest In Peace

I saw them in concert in Oslo, Norway, in... must have been... 1964 or '65. Absolutely amazing music.
Rest in peace, Spencer Davis -- you made a significant contribution to my life.

Re: What are you reading?

Wow. I have always felt high respect and admiration for Search-&-Rescue crews of all stripes. This, perhaps because... one of the first novels I ever read (as a young teen) was about the crash of a de Havilland DHC-3 Otter in a Norwegian snowstorm and the eventual rescue of the crew. At the trucking...

Want to understand?
The brilliantly insightful James Baldwin understood, and he wrote it down for us.
And we did nothing.
Yet.

Yes! That is it.

Re: The 2020 Burning Man Bar is open

Woohoo -- do we have some fabulous friends in this bar, or what?! I'm not much of an alcohol-drinker, but... if there should be... one of those marvelously flavorful local Kentucky Bourbons (local to him in Kentucky) that Le Chat Noir once mentioned? That would surely hit the spot now. Earlier today...

Hi, Ginny, welcome to ePlaya! I am a white-skinned Scandinavian, and I go nude much of the time on Playa -- mostly without sunscreen. My "secret" is that I build a natural tan very gradually over four to six months. It is simply part of my daily routine to take "an early siesta" for 1/2 to 1 hour in...

Hello, Anna, and welcome to ePlaya! Perhaps you are aware that the USA is a highly divided country these days, and this seems to apply to ePlaya as well. That woman's reaction would be hilarious, if it were not so serious and sad. I forget what this phenomenon is called, but it is about women who are "addicted" to staying with their abuser. To her, being beaten by the lout is normal. Also, he is "the devil she knows" -- the next guy could be worse. A...
