did someone say convertible bus? here is jacuzzi bus II with the 12 foot convertible roof in the closed position. It was made of vinyl much like a tonneau cover. Nothing beats watching the stars while sitting in a jacuzzi. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2374/2229334968_93335f52b7.jpg?v=0 i can't see...

I have a toolbox filled tools, another with plumbing pieces, another with electrical connectors, on buses with air brakes i carry an air hose and have a quick connector that lets me tap into the bus air system. good for filling t...

I often wandered BRC looking for your bus this past burn. Was looking forward to a soak in your hot tub :D but had to settle for getting hosed down by a powerwasher at a body wash station behind where we were camped. Do you have any pictures of your buses you can post here, there seems to be a few ...

Elliot, you are so correct! :D Jason, aka The Bus Driver. I met him when I worked for a county EMS system in Michigans thumb. I had gone to our Admin bldg one day for business and there was the bus. I got to check it out. I was very impressed that he was able to run it on cooking oils etc and the s...

I don't see what the big deal is with having "commercial" companies without logos providing technology/infrastructure to the playa. ARE YOU BLIND? Who has been to the playa and doesn't know that diesel generators that create electricity for center camp are provided by CATPOWER (catepillar) or that t...

WOW! Can't belive we leave in just a few days! We're travelign light this year. Only hauling stuff that belongs to passengers with very few exceptions. Last year we had over 15K pounds of people and stuff. The motor ran at wide open throttle for about 110 hours from detroit to playa and back. I turn...

Jacuzzi Bus 2007
Once again i'll have the bus and my 8 person hot tub on the playa. This is year number 4. Every year i get better at filtering water. The secret to sparkling clear water is 20 micron drinking water filters. That and having people shower BEFORE they get in. here's a photo of the bus at a pre-burn par...

Re: Welding advice needed
Hey - ye'all I want to weld bicycle frames together to make a funky BM bike thing. The problem is that I don't know how to weld. I inherited a Lincoln ARC Welder but I wonder if that is to much power. Would that work with some practice or should I buy something else? What's the differnce between a ...

We've considered a few ideas. Heat blanket made for that purpose specifically seems like the simplest. . nothing works like disconnecting the propane cylinder and letting her float around in the 105 degree jacuzzi for a few minutes. Even better than tht is using a 100 pound cylinder instead of the ...

Frozen Peas....... Oh Yeah Baby! Super Glue works for small cuts. storebought superglue tends to be made of the cheaper Cyanoacrylates while derma-bond and other surgical adhesives are made from 2-octyl cyanoacrylate or n-butyl-cyanoacrylate. regular super glue and "derma-bond" the stuff they use a...

Never use synthetic automobile oil like mobile 1 in a motorcycle. Motorcycle clutches are surrounded in oil, synthetic oil is so slippery it'll make your clutch slip, then you can buy new clutch plates and learn how to install them. another downside of mobile 1 is that if your car leaks even a small...

The typical explosion is a self-sustaining combustion reaction that proceeds at an ever-increasing rate and cannot be stopped. A thorough understandi...

Flame throwers are easy...Buy a cheap BBQ lighter, bend over and fire away.. Care must be taken about back burn.. if you are eluding to the danger of the flame going down the tube inside the propane bottle and causing an explosion.....don't worry about it. it is impossible for that to happen. for s...

Riding a Motorcycle to the Burn
this topic doesn't really fit under the "2007 theme" heading, but there areen't any other choices. . I live in michigan and plan to leave the jacuzzi bus at home and ride the motorcycle to the burn in 2007. I have a plan on how to get all my supplies to the playa. You can't even carry an appropriate...
