I was his neighbor, in fact Das Bus and I were on either side of him and neither one of us had any complaints. And this year just like I did last year I'll have my genny running 24x7x7 and the only reason people said anything about it last year was when they asked to tap into it or they didn't real...

Point is it's a terrible waste, and rude to your neighbours, to run a 1000 watt generator all night -- even at its lowest setting -- to power a device that uses 12 watts on average. It's bad in just about every possible way. Running the CPAP alone on the generator would be wasteful of energy compar...

My wife uses a CPAP. In 2003 we powered it using a small, super-quiet Yamaha generator (EF1000is), which worked flawlessly. This year, I'm still bringing the generator for other purposes, but am planning to run the CPAP from the car battery, then use either the generator or the car engine to keep th...

2004 Theme
(I can't vouch for the veracity of this, as it came from a mailing list (albeit a pretty well-regarded one) and not straight from the Burning Man organization. However, if you're just chomping at the bit to get started dreaming up your theme-related projects, here you go! -- Flux) Vault of Heaven In...

And as much as I dislike shrub, his trip to Baghdad impressed the hell out of me. I'm glad to see our troops were not forgotten! I confess that I still dislike him as much as ever, even after he spent untold taxpayer dollars flying all the way to Iraq to spend a whopping two hours with a whopping s...

Hi bearsnest, I have a couple of suggestions for you, if you're interested. First, you should consider contacting the Black Rock Arts Foundation (I'm sure there's a link on http://www.burningman.com/) and looking into the possiblity of getting a grant. That's what they're there for! Second, it would...

I want 2 or 3 kids before I'm done, if it's possible for me to have any. She wants the same but in this day and age I'm playing it very cautious. I don't want to be just a child support check for her and never see my kids...I've seen that happen all around me and I don't want it to be my story. Don...

Drugs are like kids: Just when you're sure you've had enough for a lifetime, you get a hankering for some more. (I have a 20-year-old and a 7-year-old; I know whereof I speak.) You think they're gone for good, and the next day they're at your door again. (Hey, where are those flashbacks I was promis...

That link would qualify as one of the worst wastes of bandwidth currently online. It totally sucks. That's why I specifically told you NOT to click it. But did you listen to me? Nooooo, of course not. Well, I hope you've learned your lesson, young man. When Flux tells you not to do something, it's ...

Peanutbutter San Bernardino. Sounds like a recipe popular in the Inland Empire. Egads. Just the fact you know the term "Inland Empire" makes me very suspicious of you, Flux. I know, it scares me too. I might as well out myself now: I grew up behind the Orange Curtain. In my opinion, Orange County a...

I confess that this has turned into the most boring thread on the e-playa. C'mon, people! I fucking STOLE something and then ADMITTED it. Bragging about a sexual conquest, real or imagined, is not a confession, no matter how you phrase it. NOW, FESS UP! But sex is the only naughty thing I do! Yeah,...

Even if some of affg's typed comments could be interpreted as racist under some common definition, I think it's tedium at best and harassment at worst to single anyone out with a thread dedicated to their presumed failings. It's entirely different from engaging them in the context of a conversation...
