Dry Ice in a FigJam?
I've seen people pack ice into swamp coolers. Wondering if packing in some dry ice would work. Issue I see are not letting the dry ice contact the water directly (thick plastic bags to prevent contact?), and blowing Co2 into an enclosed space as the dry ice evaporated.

We're pretty squared away for instructors now. Are you going to make it this year? BJJ is going to be at 11, and I think Muay Thai is after that.

Several Black Belts, and at least one Brown Belt, have committed to teaching. Classes are in the gi, although there are always people happy to roll no-gi. Just no no-pants training.

Muay Thai?
Camp Settle This Like Men is looking for folks interested in teaching class, preferably Muay Thai or kickboxing. We have mats, shade, a great supportive crew, but most of our team is BJJ focused. Let me know if you're interested.

Classes are mostly in the gi. We have loaners, but mostly a2 and a3. I'd say about half of the folks at the open mats are no-gi. I suspect that proportion will grow this year.

Re: Camp Settle This Like Men NOT accepting campers!
We're in the book and on-line playa events. We have BJJ every day at 11, and are usually off the mats by 1. W TH F we have Muay Thai and sparring at 3, so you'll want to be done by then, unless you want to Chi some guys in short shorts and shin guards. Come on by, we should have a white board for cl...

Re: RV a/c fan starts very slow, anybody familiar with the issue?
It works, even with my crappy Smarter tools 2000 watt (ha! liars!) generators in tandem. The low fan speed may not be related, just proximite. Seems to work, just takes a little while for everything to spin up.

So now that I've gotten back into the a/c, the wires go from the run capacitor directly to the hard start capacitor.

Thanks. A buddy is an electrical engineer, I may have him take a look. Sadly, he deals mostly in micro voltages, and I worry he'll kill himself with household or higher, but we're not That close.

Re: RV a/c fan starts very slow, anybody familiar with the issue?
So yes to the question! I didn't remove anything, and saw only the one resistor, which I think is a combo unit, start and run. The one I installed had a cylinder, with a smaller square attached to the top. When I installed, all I did was secure it with a strap, and plug in two spade connectors. So i...

Re: RV a/c fan starts very slow, anybody familiar with the issue?
Hmmmm, there I did it per instructions? Once I got to the wiring, there were extra spade connections that I plugged into. Makes sense that plugging the capacitor into the fan/motor line rather than just the compressor line might cause the fan to run slowly.

RV a/c fan starts very slow, anybody familiar with the issue?
I've got a dometic 12,500 BTU roof mount a/c. Pretty standard for a smaller trailer/caravan. I was having a hard time getting my generators to turn the a/c compressor over, so I installed a hard start capacitor in the unit. Now, when I start it up, shore power or generators, the fan starts very slow...

Re: Likely temperature range for 2017?
Keep in mind that you are at altitude, and that open playa storms, wind, etc, blow across without much to stop them. Reno and all surrounding areas are notoriously windy. Out on the playa, heat loss isn't mitigated by surrounding hills, trees, water bodies, nothing, so swings are more extreme.

Anybody know what size the thumb screws are that are used to secure corner fittings to 1 inch and/or 3/4 inch conduit are? costco is .5 miles away. Easy peasy mac and cheesy if you have a costco membership. Otherwise, I recommend hitting Smart And Final.

Re: Is there a grocery store at Reno airport?
Where does the burner express pick up? I believe it's at the airport? Costco is just west and south, not too far. I'd uber or lyft, since time is tight. There's also a drug store a little farther down plumb at Virginia, at Shoppers' Square. They have liquor, and limited, very limited, groceries. In ...

Make sure your gennie setup will power your a/c
don't rely on the stated watts from the generator, or how much you need from the a/c. I have two Yamaha knockoffs, supposed to provide 2000 watts each, and my a/c is supposed to need 2500 to 3000 to turn the compressor. doesn't happen like that. Boo! I installed a hard start capacitor on my a/c, and...
