Re: Hello and Welcome... What's your name? Tell me about You

Hmm. I don't know how to feel about setting a longtime lurker record! eek! That said, I haven't been a complete virtual recluse-- just haven't don't proper introductions and all. You know. Anyway, *waves in a friendly non-creepy way* nice to leave the lurker shadows.

Re: Hello and Welcome... What's your name? Tell me about You

Hiya! I've been sneaking around the eplaya for years now, so I think it's probably time I properly introduce myself. My first burn was in 2003, and it truly was "Beyond Belief." It was love at first sight, home at first roll-in-the-dust. Thanks for all of the wisdom, advice, and snark that...

Re: Survival Guide for College Students Missing First Week?

I've participated in Burning Man four times over the past ten years and missed the first week of classes each year (twice as an undergrad, twice as a graduate student). The amount of notice and detail I would give each professor depended on the class. For large general-education courses, I would wri...

I think a whole vegan camp with vegan/green art is a great idea and entirely possible to arrange. You're right that it fits in nicely with the theme this year too. ... Unfortunately, this is the first year in four years I won't be going to BM. It figures that when I finally really, really dig the th...

Yes, I too salute those who go to BM off of an international flight. Of course, it would solve the problem of getting over the Rockies with waaaay too much gear on a vehicle that isn't built for the Rockies.

*sigh* I want to teleport to Burning Man! Someone gift me a teleporter?

I'm pretty sure there aren't actually pickups that drive around stealing bikes... That may be a little suspicious. Unless, of course, the pickup is decorated as a giant anteater or something. That said, I always chain my bike to structures or a couple of friends' bikes to keep her safe and sound. I ...

Okay, we're planning something for Wednesday at 7:00. Most likely it will be at a highly visable location such as Center Camp for convenience.

Unless someone has a brilliant idea for the perfect vegan potluck place! (Oh how I'd love a brilliant idea...)

I am looking for some tutus to have available at my playa "yard sale" and am wondering if anyone has hot leads on cheap ones. They need not be fancy, of course. The only ones I've found on Ebay are either in the UK or $50+ I tried making one, as was my original plan, but after wrestling with yards o...

Anyone interested in a vegan potluck/picnic? Hmmm?

I know it's pretty late in the game to be organizing BRC events, but the great thing about potlucks is that they're easy schmeasy.

So, would people be interested in attending a vegan potluck sometime during the event?

And, if so, anyone have any location/date/time thoughts?

Hmmm, you're right. Maybe we can make it work somehow. Post some info here and in BRC... And then voila! Yummy vegan potluck at Burning Man. Anyone have ideas about a good place to have such an event in BRC? My camp is pretty small and may not be able to accommodate too many hungry vegans.

I was initially concerned about my contacts and sensitive eyes. But with proper lens cleaning/storing, rewetting drops, and goggles in dust storms I was just fine.
