No price gouging by JOTS??? Riiiiiiight.
http://www.burningman.com/preparation/event_survival/rvs.html "You can have your potable water tank recharged for a fee of $40." This is not exactly about JOTS, but most everybody knows what that stands for--My issue was actually with a truck that said United Site Services, which may have been lease...

It says right on the ticket that you can be turned away if you haven't brought proper survival items. That said, I know there are many camps where most of the water is hauled by a large truck, so I know he won't be a unique situation. Personally I would bring enough for a couple days even if somebod...

I have no sympathy for camp organizers who expect to throw a big theme camp with money other people give them... Delete their threads. They can throw a theme camp with what they own already, and stop renting a bunch of shit because that is the opposite of sustainable. My friends and I started a chur...

Getting married on the playa--what would you wear?
We will be posting directions to our wedding (and afterparty) at the tower of triumphant struggle, my friend's art installation. There is a chance we will decide to be married at the tower, but directions will be there either way. We will be tying the knot (literally, it is a handfasting) on Friday ...

I just ordered some 12v CCFLs (4 inverters running two 12" CCFLs each, in UV,green, purple and blue) from vibelight.com. I'm hoping to run these off various 12v sealed lead acid batteries I found recently at NPS in Utah, an industrial salvage type place, for $.70/lb. So that's around $4 for my 7ah 12...
