It's only effective if people don't realize what you are doing. I wasn't trying to effect anything, in the sense of convincing anyone that vandalism of art is a miserable act. I clearly stated my opinion there in plenty strong terms. Surely that snuck up on no one. But my biggest question was to wh...

destruction of art
So Addis's apparent destruction of BM.Org's art has been chewed over sufficiently. What about destruction and theft of other people's and camps' art? Any reports of that sort of thing this year? I skipped this year after deep disappointment over similar incidents in 2006. Some dork smacked down a pi...

was marci the one who was raped? (for those who may freakout by the though of sexually violating an inanimate object, by rape i mean whose clothes were stolen) No, actually that mannequin was Bella. And she was left with her parts in a pile, in addition to having the outfit stolen. By someone. Shaw...

My bike disappeared for a while & then reappeared this year, the first time I've had a problem. It's barely functional, and I've always assumed that protected it from theft. Lots of the rusty beater bikes in Amsterdam have a sweet little lock that clamps through the rear wheel, just enough to preven...

Quite a few of us have a chequered past on the board. By 'us' you mean the various mannequins you've propped up around the joint, right? Well, all but the pink one. Am I the only one who can access private messages? Still have a couple sitting there from nipples back in 2004. Haven't tried to send ...

He didn't realize he had penetrated the perimeter. Lack of communication people, that's the root of this conflict. So y'all who created the machine didn't give it a necessary capability, nor did you take responsibility yourselves by providing the spotter mentioned earlier. Y'all created the problem...

From my vantage point on the esplanade, I can say that overall DPW shows much more respect in their driving than do Rangers. Maybe the Rangers have to hurry to respond to calls or something, but their SUVs were consistently speeding along the esplanade and across the open playa, where DPW vehicles t...

Silver & black knife
I found a very nice silver & black flip-out knife in ctr. camp on an ice run. If you lost such, check with Playa Info.

afterburn
The 2005 afterburn probably right before opener of 2006. Q: Is this accurate? This is probably not accurate. The 04 Afterburn was published much later than usual in June 2005. Most years since the first (2001) it's been published in March-April timeframe. All but a tiny bit of the content for After...

Lack of access to the old eplaya is hiding an enormous collection of wonderful haiku and other writings from nipples. Sure wish I and others could look back at that material right now. It's such a loss at this moment. Used to be at http://oldbbs.burningman.com.

OK, so I have a question: How vital do y'all think it is to expose only the most recent little bit of text? Yeah, I know the rules of exquisite corpse, and no doubt that's fun & all, but I'm thinking of something with a bit more continuity and an evolving identity of its own, but still with input fr...
