Boycotting is lame. Most of the event is perfectly fine. Just ignore the frat brats. It's mainly a figment of peoples' exaggerated imaginations. Honestly, 90% of the people who attend the Burn are great, so why boycott because of 10%. That's like letting them win. They do have the same right we do t...

Last Burn
Sorry to hear that it will be your last Burn, but if you are unhappy then it's best to stay home! THis was my 6th Burn as well and I loved the Burn. Sure, with more people there will of course be loss of connection with certain individuals, but I felt connected with just as many participants as ever...

Hello Staggers
I'll definitely check you guys out on Tribe. I'm still looking for a group setting to camp with since I'm new to the Bay Area and you guys seems like a great group to chill with and I love the idea of a camp without high maintenance drama, yet lots of fun people to meet when you want but nothing too...

bathing
Yeah. Regardless of if people are creeped out or not, it's not like you kidnap people to bathe with you. If a woman or man decides to get a bath with/from you, then she obviously is enjoying it. There's really not much difficulty in understanding that. It's funny how people assume that just because ...

LOL. Point being the stats say 0.006%. Period. It's a very low risk. That point stands, regardless of if you want to waste time giving me a high school science lesson. (The colloid chemistry reminder of cum being a colloidal mixture is of course true, but that is not significant in effecting the sta...

Doesnt everyone own an AFM? I sometimes carry around the tapping mode and gold contact mode tips around in my pockets, but then they seem to break. Damn. That 700 lb granite sound-free platform also fits right in my pocket along with my pocket protector. (joke LOL) If there is a nano or microscopic ...

Actually lots of submicron things can be detected. I work with antibodies fragments, peptides, viruses, etc. that are all detectable if you immunostain. Probably 50% of the science done in biological and chemical labs today require these capabilities and if you are a scientist I would hope you are w...

Actually I do indeed have a PhD and develop HIV detection ELISAs and cancer therapies for a living. We all know that viruses are on the nanoscopic range. LOL Thanks for the refresher though.... When I modify TMV, I generally use optical labelling techniques via MolecularProbes/Invitrogen to check th...

There are TONS of people who dont go to BMan for sex, me being one of them. Have been 5 times and never have had sex, even though I am bi and could have had sex. Although, SEX on the Playa is fine and the above statement is a bit paranoid in my opinion. I can say that since I work in disease cure/di...

Indian Peeps
All of the people I know from India (over a dozen) all speak better English than most Americans to be honest. My guess would be it's not an issue.
Anyhow, I say the more cultural the event the better, so I hope tons of Indian peeps are there! Have fun, if you are there.

OK. So I hope I am stating the obvious here, but if you are worried about kids seeing "things" at Burning Man, maybe you should be focusing your efforts about kids seeing "things" on the internet. LOL As far as sex is concerned, there sure is a lot more on the internet than the Playa (no need to lis...

Spanking isn't perverse.
Nice and clean and fun!
Maybe I should bring the leather paddle by and do some spanking with your camp.....
Could be fun.

Pagan Playa People!
Anyone with a geometric/analytical/mathematical mind can twist, turn, and introduce numbers to back that argument. You can place a pentagram on anything circular and yes, the dimensions do seem a bit fabricated.... The real question here is would anyone actually care if it was or was not pagan? Ob

Yes. 2001 was my first year and I was like, "Woah.... These people were not joking about the dust storms." It was pretty exciting, but my tent had a mm of sand on the bottom of it and I slept with a dust mask on. LOL I just thought that is how it was supposed to be, but then non of the years to foll...

Sound camps
This is not really a "VERSUS" thread. Just because one goes to large sound camps does not mean they do not go to smaller camps too. I personally enjoy dozens of sound camps on the Playa... No problem given props to the likes of El Circo though. Just giving props where they are due! As far as grants ...

Yep!
Nexus has some of the most original music out there! Opulent Temple had Oakenfold, Tiesto, Lee Coombs and a lot of other great DJs last year....and the Playa wouldnt be the same without Space Cowboys and the Deep End.

From Bitches to Boom: The Burning Man Saga Part 2579
The amount that Burners bitch about each others' tastes in music, who is WORTHY of $$$$ and who isnt, and who has a bigger Playa dick sure is annoying and really takes away from the event. If I had not been 5 times, I would look at these threads and think how political the event must be and lose int...
