Hi Lovelymoon, Sounds like you'll be a creative and friendly asset to any camp. The advice others gave is good and true. On the other hand, a lot of times when someone creates a post like yours, someone quickly replies with an offer to join their camp. That's probably more likely to happen if the po...

Thanks for bringing art, or whatever cool idea it is, to the playa, on your first burn, no less! Thanks also for being sure it is lit (I hope that's part of what the power is for - if it's a project out on the playa). It's going to be a moonless year this year. I'm glad about that, personally. Thanks for the post and the music. In a few weeks or months someone will probably start a thread here called "Stages Seeking Artists" that will be people looking for DJs and other performers. The corresponding thread will be "Artists Seeking Stages". This forum is pretty quiet now, but by early summ...

That is an extremely cool idea! One of the best ideas for a participatory gift ever. Does it really end up like a sealed tin can, like a can of corn? I've already got ideas of what to put it in it. Yeah, some dust would be required. We all love bringing the playa smell back to the default world. Mis...

Hi erri2000, I've been good. You too, I hope. I'm trying to think how I know you. Maybe I'm having a senior moment (I'm almost old enough), or maybe there's another Scooter T. Remind me of the what I've forgotten and I'll writhe in embarrassment. I agree - it's cool Maseo is attending and he's the c...

No MINE!! Hey, can we share? We're working on a live music project for 2008, and I was wanting at least one horn player and trumpet would be fantastic. Our great sax player probably won't be able to make it, but if he does, the more the merrier. For you it would mostly be for solos (instead of arran...

I truly love America. Best country ever, in spite of the horrendous mistakes of our leaders, sometimes with our blindered consent. I sometimes get teary-eyed during the Star Spangled Banner. (Maybe I should see a doctor about that.) When the amazing freedom of Burning Man hit me, I felt gratitude fo...

Thanks for the comments, Vertigo. Yes, you sound like a parental lecturer, but I believe your intentions are good. If you really read my all my posts in this thread (long, I admit), you'd see that... Sorry about the accident, Stephan! Glad you survived! At least one other person had a serious crash into that pipe and had to be taken away by ambulance. Yeah, the Japanese party car rocked! We stopped by and partied with them for a while late one night but didn't really meet anyone. Just rocked out. You're right as usual, Trilo. I was the moving object. We were looking at the brightly lit object we were approaching, which was casting shadows in our direction. I know and accept that Burning Man can be dangerous. I'm okay with most of that. We all had a good laugh at my crash in fact (since I wasn't hurt). I wasn't going very fast, but I guess it was too fast. I had a light, but was it on? I don't remember. I'll accept about 80% of the responsibility for m...

Who Was the Group Performing Friday Night, Esplanade/2:30?
There was a live group with a percussionist, drummer and keys playing in an uncovered dome around midnight Friday night on the esplanade pretty close to 2:00. GREAT sound from their Bag End brand speakers. They played music while a mythic story was acted out in front of them. Bad guy kills the good ...

Injuries Near the Crude Awakening or elsewhere
I heard of at least two injuries caused by people crashing into unlit pipes and hardware that was part of the Crude Awakening project after it burned. At least one of these required an ambulance. My friends who helped that person were shocked at how much dangerous, unlit stuff was out there. I bet t...

I liked this little electric Asian teahouse with bench seats in the back. But then again, it was my car! I hope some of you saw it before it broke down on Saturday.
