Ticket Order - Delivery Method Glitch?
I selected "USPS Signature Confirmation" for our delivery method, but the Ticketfly Order Confirmation says "Delivery Method - Will Call"
Anyone else have this issue?
Is it possible to change delivery method to USPS?
Thanks!

Georgie Boy Placement Sucked Ass
Georgie Boy was the art installation at the center of the 3:00 Plaza. People could push the button to watch robotic Georgie Boy perform one of his 8 scenes. The robotics and design were interesting for a few minutes, but the audio drove everyone on the plaza crazy. Georgie Boy blathered 24/7 with hi...

Bacon grease is the BEST thing you can put on your dry, cracked feet. Seriously.

$20 For In-and-Outs before gates open?
Before the gates open at midnight Sunday, several of us need to make a run from the playa back to Empire to get another load of stuff from our storage unit there. Yes, we all have early arrival passes.
Anyone know if the gate folks will charge us $20 each for in-and-out passes?
Thanks,

Snakepit/bait bike Project
Here's a couple ideas for the Snakepit/bait bike project: Idea 1 Put a modified bike speedometer on the bike, rigged so when the needle hits 5mph, it makes electrical contact and zaps the thief with a tazer attached to the handlebars. Idea 2 Attach 25 feet of thin aircraft cable to the frame and att...

The whole box doesn't need to be made of glass, just where the projector lens is. Make a wooded box with a tight fitting hinged top and a small glass window. Install a fan with a replaceable filter. Run your electrical cord out of a hole in the box (sealed). Test it on a hot night before taking it t...

I bought a Honda EU1000 and a EU2000 from this place in Ukiah.

You have to call them to get the prices, but they were the cheapest I could find anywhere.

Quiet Generators
The Burning man site has great general information on generators. http://www.burningman.com/preparation/event_survival/generators.html Suggestion Number One is: "Bring the quietest generator you can afford, and the smallest that will meet your actual needs. Larger generators are more difficult to tr...

I've used a 3 gallon Lawn & Garden sprayer for my mist system and it works great. The only problem I've had is that the nozzles plug up and start to drip. Then you have puddles of water under each dripping nozzle. Water filters don't seem to help much because the playa dust is so tiny it just goes t...

John, You might be very dissipointed with this one. http://www.air-n-water.com/product/SF609R.html I reccommend one that moves a lot of air through your structure, instead of recirculating the air already inside. Swamp coolers work by taking dry warm air and evaporating water to make cool, somewhat ...

We've used a 3000 cfm swamp cooler for our 12 foot radius dome the last 2 years. It works GREAT. Lots of air flow, no dust, and 20 degrees cooler inside. Just like this: http://www.championcooler.com/eac/index_eac_res.htm We use two 55 gallon barrels of water to feed it. We bribe the potable water t...

Emergen-C has electrolytes
Emergen-C has lots of electrolytes and trace minerals:
Sodium - 60 mg
Potassium - 200 mg
Magnesium - 60 mg
Calcium - 50 mg
Zink - 2 mg
Manganese - 1 mg
Chromium - 10 mcg
And just 5 grams of sugar.
I put a packet in my water bottle once a day and it works like a charm.

External Fuel Tank
Last year, I made two of the external fuel tanks like the Captain suggested for our camps Honda EU1000 & EU2000 generators. Thanks, Captain! They worked well except a couple times the generators stopped, apparantly running out of gas. I guess we had a kink or maybe a small air leak in the fuel line ...

I caught Larry Harvey in a bar in the upper Haight last week. I asked him what the theme for 05 might be. He first said he couldn't tell me, but after I bought him a couple drinks, he started to loosen up, and eventually told me. He said the theme will be "Into the Void". Nothingness. Nihilism. Ever...

Personally, I think the benefits of closing the gates early far outweigh the negatives. But we'll never get everyone to agree to a rule change like this on this foru...

One Way to Make Dome Panels
I made panels for my 24' dome with heavy duty silver tarps from Harborfreight.com Each panel covers several triangles and grommets onto bolts ends which stick outward from my dome. I also sewed velcro onto the edges so adjoining panels will stick together and make it more weather tight. To determine...

Honda EU2000 Generator Parallel Operation
Hi, We're planning to buy 2 of the super quiet Honda EU2000 generators to power sound and light in our Lounge. We need 3000 watts total. In 2002, someone stole my bike and my friends bike Friday night at center camp. The rumor going around was that someone left the playa with a big truck full of stolen bikes that year. Here's an idea. Place a transmitter on a bike and "plant" the bike at center camp. When it disappears, track it down...

Close the Gates on Thursday !
It seems to me that many of the ills facing Burning Man could be cured simply by closing the gates on Thursday morning. No one gets in after then (except in & outs and BM staff). Of course you could leave anytime you want. Just think how many yahoos that would dissuade from coming. Imagine the beaut...
