Problems With Gifting A Ride
I was wondering, is it still the case that if you arrive at the gate with a person who has an invalid ticket (fake, duplicate, etc.) that the gate staff will insist that you leave with the person and return them to Reno? If so, that seems like a big disincentive to gift a ride to someone you do not ...

Re: Notes from this year
I didn't see Twerk or Twerking hit the list (fortunately or unfortunately depending on your point of view). I thought it was disturbing to see words like "artist" and "participation" dropping in usage while "drink", "dance" and party" increased in usage over the last 9 years. I certainly have nothin...

What items do you carry when walking the Playa?
Just wondering what folks consider essential to have when exploring the playa. My list: Canteen, spork, cup, sunscreen (daytime only), small flashlight (always), leatherman tool, dust mask or small scarf. Small amounts of military theme swag (like actual vintage occupation currency, soviet-era milit...

Re: Notes from this year
Lastly I compared the What, Where, When guides from years ago and there used to be an intelligent atmosphere of camps with puns and well thought out themes (remember Flight to Mars?). I compare this year’s guide and it has degraded to the lowest common denominator of genitals, drinks, and allures o...

Unfortunately, I have to change the title of this thread to “Have Sno Kones but Not Going to the Playa Because of BS Beyond My Control.” Just sold my ticket and won’t waste time ranting here about things I cannot change. Rather, I want to apologize to those camps that were looking forward to offerin...

We had a full party with Beau our pink elephant tonight. It got rave reviews. Everyone loved it. I think it will be a hit on the playa. Do you have any sno kones we could rename a pink elephant for our Thursday gathering? I have cherry, blue bubblegum, lemon, grape, and tiger blood flavors. None of...

We can split the time. Typically I get rushed for the first 30-60 minutes and then it dies down. No problem.Galaxo Magic wrote:Sounds great Major. An hour in camp maybe? Or does it get so crazy that we'd be hard to pick up and go mobile?

Dadara - are you planning anything for Saturday morning / early afternoon? I will gladly accept zero bills for my sno kones. We can have people 'earn" nothing bills by performing random acts of stupidity, playa de-mooping, whatever. They can then exchange those bills for icy-cold refreshment. Let me...

Sno Kones for Theme Camps!
Part of my gifting for the playa is providing sno kones to theme camps in order to support their parties, meet and greets etc. All I need is access to a genny, ice (i get 3 kones per pound of cubed ice), a clean table and one or two reliable helpers who take food safety seriously. I'll bring the com...

Re: Have sno kones, will travel
I am amazed that - aside from my fellow Terminal City citizens reminding me about the eplaya M&G - not a single camp has taken me up on my offer. Sno kones go over big every time I set up shop. I thought I would get swamped with camps that would want a visit. Where (dare I ask) did I go so wrong?

AntiM - I always get the permit just to be safe (don't want to get shut down because I am serving food to the public without a permit). House-sitting for Brooklyn Burners
I was wondering if any Brooklyn-based Burners needed someone to care for their pet or would be willing to sub-let their apartment while they were on the playa. My wife wants to explore Brooklyn while I am at the Burn and I thought this might be good way for her to do it. PM me if you are interested....

Great. Poetry readings. Do we at lest get a firing squad? If someone starts reading shitty poetry I will be firing Atari Teenage Riot at them with a megaphone. Now we are talking. I would not have thought of having kill switch and/or lojack-type of unit on the vehicle. But now that you mention it, however, it seems really obvious. The cigarette burns are another obvious issue I had not fully thought of. I also like the lighting on the front sides for night...

As a non-MV owner, it seemed to me that many many (especially the big party MV) MVowners pass up burners looking for a ride because they do not fit their criteria. when was the last time you saw an uggo swinging from the stripper pole on that octopus?
