Re: No wait room?
I'm still getting "Promo code xxxxxxx is invalid or tickets may not yet be available." With the promo code I was sent replacing xxxxxxx. I am logged into ticketfly. It says Hello My Name at the top. Any advice?

Re: Do i need an id to get in?
I've been going since 2006 (I was 27) and I went to many bars and camps and was not once carded. Not a single time. Not even a hint asking for an ID... until last year. Last year every single bar and adult camp carded me. Every one! Maybe I looked like a cop. Maybe BMORG or JRS did a good job educat...

Re: Minimalist Shower structure & evap?
For evap I use a 4'x6' black tub and it gets rid of just between 1 and 2 gallons of water a day when in the sun. I don't do anything other than put water in and set in the sun.

Re: Plunderground is Looking for Rock Themed DJ Mixes/Mashup
This guy has all sorts of mashups. Burner material all the way. He goes by "RIAA" and all of his music is available as free downloads. That should be enough to support him! You can find links to his music torrents and file downloads on his page. I haven't listened to his newer stuff but the older st...

Re: The Unspoken Eleventh Principle
There are plenty of regional burns where the "burner culture" appears to be alive and well. I've been to plenty of (completely non affiliated campouts) where the principles hold true. And as it turns out there are plenty of "strangers" (40% new "participants" in 2013) who keep showing up. Even the ...

Re: The Unspoken Eleventh Principle
As is from what I can tell you are trying to form the opinion that because there is a ticketing process involved. To me it is not about there being a ticketing process, it's about selecting who the tickets go to. I've said it many times, I am in favor of this program and it's one of their proncipal...

Re: The Unspoken Eleventh Principle
You could have ZERO tickets offered, because the number of tickets offered for sale -- at any number -- fundamentally has nothing to do with "radical inclusion." This is Burning Man's definition of Radical Inclusion, not mine: Anyone may be a part of Burning Man. We welcome and respect the stranger...

What happened with that post?
There was a post with someone advertising 10 tickets. I figured it was fake. Did he come on and admit it? It seems to have disappeared.

Re: The Unspoken Eleventh Principle
Such flimsy, arbitrary metrics have nothing to do with "radically inclusiveness." Rather it's the concept any person can potentially attend, and aren't going to barred, if the person has a ticket. So then you disagree that in my extreme example above where only 1000 tickets are offered to people wh...

Re: The Unspoken Eleventh Principle
Burning Man IS about radical inclusion. The BLM isn't! True that the BLM is the limiting factor, but I think they are just trying to be responsible and attempting to keep the event safe and allow people to have some ability to arrive and leave in a timely manner. I love ridiculous inclusion! Thank ...

Re: The Unspoken Eleventh Principle
Were you up in arms over those? I'm not up in arms about anything. I agree with their program in general. I have my own principals. I generally do not lie, but if someone calls me from "Microsoft" telling me that "my IP address has been compromised" (It's a common scam if you didn't know) I will me...

Re: The Unspoken Eleventh Principle
Honestly, I think you're just being obtuse. Nobody qualifies the ability of customers to purchase goods in a store with "oh, but employees get a discount" either -- because it doesn't apply nor affect your ability to buy the goods. Let's try this thought experiment. Let's say that of 68,000 total t...

Re: The Unspoken Eleventh Principle
Not only am I willing to argue semantics after the burns I'll even do it during. I like to play devils advocate, but I do really think they need to change the text. I no longer think it's fitting. If, after all of this, you still want to argue semantics and philosophy, we can talk.

Be careful out there Captain, you're a haoule and they HATE haoule's. I have several friends from the islands and they advise not to go. They do not want us there. I depends on where you go. If you stay in the touristy areas, you won't have any problems at all. There are some bad apples at "local o...

Re: The Unspoken Eleventh Principle
Radical inclusion didn't die at all. 1) These principles are only really applicable once you are at the event, not leading up to it. Sure, people try and practice the principles outside the event, but following through strictly with that would be impossible. For one, decommodification is impossible...

Re: The Unspoken Eleventh Principle
I agree with Bbadger - anyone can still be part of Burning Man. Everyone has an equal chance to get a ticket in the regular sale, STEP & OMG, it's luck and computer speed that determine if you do (mostly luck). Even with the Directed Sale it's first-come, first-served, so those people are in a simi...

Re: The Unspoken Eleventh Principle
Did radical inclusion not die when they started reserving passes for specified camps? So we're back down to 10? Edit: I'm not griping about it. I agree that something along those lines is required for our situation; I just don't think radical inclusion applies anymore. Radical inclusion didn't die ...

After how many burns do the memories blend together?
I am just wondering at what point the burns started to all blend together for everyone. ? Mine are pretty clear in my head. There have been big differences for most of my burns though. I have been going since 2006, in 2007 my wife was pregnant, in 2011 we missed the burn due to my sons birth (a few ...

Re: The Unspoken Eleventh Principle
Maybe we need to start the "Burningman sucks; don't go" campaign again. Dedicate sites to horror stories heat and dust storms. I think many of the bad ones weed themselves out after the first year. All people post about burningman is the cool shit and do not educate them about the culture, principal...

Melted ice is clean water. Clean, potable water, can be spread out evenly over the streets (do not poor it in one place and make a mud puddle)

Can I leave tickets at willcall for someone?
So if I have tickets and show up to the event, can I leave extra tickets for others to come pick up later? I ask this because I may be able to get 4 willcall tickets (order cannot be split) but I will only be using two. I would like to know if I can leave the other two there or if I have to somehow ...
