World Metal & Funk bands seek stage and acceptance.

Greetings~ I'm with a band called Niobium and we're trying to team up with a Las Vagas based funk outfit called the Funky Jah Punkys to assault small sections of BRC with something other than techno. Niobium is darker, brooding groove metal-rock type stuff with a didgeridoo player, hippie song conce...

They are not too weird for westerners in my opinion. We're closer to Tool than anything as far as that goes. And yes, I realize that with 45,000 people there, we'll still have a large crowd provided people actually know what's going on with us, but still, we are about as metal as say System of a Dow...

Weird, World Metal band at Burning Man?

Greetings All~ I'm in a band that undoubtedly falls under the 'metal' category, but we're a different breed... Didgeridoo player, weird time signatures and songs about Peace, Love and Light, generally speaking. I'm trying to gauge how well we might be received if we were to play at Burning Man this ...

Fundraising for theme camps.... Help!!

I am wondering what some of the theme camps do (even some of the bigger ones) to raise money for themselves. I think I have a good idea. I have the people-resources to make it happen. The only thing standing in my way is money. I'm not looking for handouts, I'm looking for viable, plausible ways to ...

Ok, so after some thought, I'm attmpting to organize my peoples, fund-raise (Which I might need some direction on...) and actually build a fairly substantial theme camp/stage possibly worthy of the Esplanade. Ha ha, high hopes for a 2nd year Burner, but we just might have the means... Thanks for the...

Thanks for the info. I know that there was a stage there off the beaten path (maybe 4:30 and Freshwater or something) that was covered nicely and actually looked like an ampitheater, and a latin dance band played there and house was PACKED. I'll take this information and swirl it around. Hopefully, ...

Hard Rock at Burning Man 2008?

My first year was 2007, although I've been trying to get out there since 2004. I saw and experienced a lot of techno, electronica, and even some Mutaytor and a couple reggae bands. I'm wondering first and foremost.... how much of a demand would there be for some intelligent, tribal-ish progressive h...

Band needs direction...

I'm in a 6-piece experimental heavy tribal rock band looking to perform at Burning Man 2007. And I know nothing. Everybody is a BM virgin. Can anybody send me to the right door for information on what has to be done in order to perform? All the what, when and how? What are the rules? Any information...
