Western Massachusetts Burners

Can't remember if this has been posted here or not.... If you live in Western Massachusetts (or Southern VT or Northern CT or Eastern NY)- I am starting a Valley Burners group in the Amherst/Northampton area. Basically for me, the Boston group is just too far to get to so I wanted a more local alter...

Re: Burner Baby's!

Is there anyone that had baby's that were conceived during Burningman? I have some friends that did. Their baby is awesome. who else had one.......really........it's all good Not showering for 3 days at a time, sleeping on a half-inflated air mattress, and having neighboring tents only a few inches...

i've had plenty of experience with those. I am not so sure they would hold up to 3 days of post hole digging, rebar pounding, screen and tarp hanging, 6 days of hard partying and then 1 day of rebar pulling. Although I guess you might not need it on that last day if yer buggin out. Suppose you coul...

The one they gave me at the gate for re-entry would have lasted a long time I'm sure. I only had to wear it for 24 hours, but I showered with it and it held up fine.

Writsbands are not going to stop a determined underaged person from drinking but they CAN stop me from willingly serving them and make it more difficult for them to obtain inebrieants. While I am interested in seeing to the health and welfare of minors, I am also interested in keeping my own ass ou...

I just want to add, that just because I think the wristbands could work doesn't mean I condone it. we brought an 18 year old to Burning Man, and he drank our beer. I didn't serve him, but I didn't stop him from opening the cooler either. I don't think that wristbands or law enforcement is going to s...

Just give wristbands ... green for > 21, yellow for 18>21, red for < 18 but I like the color coded roofing nails applied bindi style to the forehead with the pneumatic nail gun better. This could work! Do it at the gate as people come in. Those wristbands that they give for re-entry would be perfec...

It just dawned on me that if we are even having the conversation about if kids should be allowed to go then something is fundamentally broken. Maybe it is a breakdown of basic values ... free expression means doing things that kids can't see? Do we have such a desire for the extreme that we don't g...

Re: crutches

Just a guess.. if you had been injured seriously enough to be taken to Reno in an ambulance for xrays etc, you may have gotten crutches from the hospital there. oddly enough, most hospitals don't issue crutches. They generally tell you buy or rent them at the pharmacy. It would seem a resonable req...

Overhydration is possible. This year I drank, and drank, and drank water. But after a bike ride out to the temple and back, I was still dizzy and hot and not well. Two drink boxes of Gatorade and some rest in the shade settled me down somewhat. But water alone is not the answer. I HATE Gatorade, but...

Next year just take I-80 all the way! And have 2 drivers instead of 1. You'll make much better time. The speed limits go up as you get further out west, and there are good truck stops on 80 too.
