Re: What part of Radical Self-reliance....

...includes SELLING food? My. We're really worked up over something that doesn't exist, aren't we? The permits are for food that is Given Away. Just like always. By law even free food has to meet Nevada safety regulations, that's what this thread was discussing, which you probably would have realiz...

What part of Radical Self-reliance....

...includes SELLING food? I was against selling coffee at Center Camp when it first started, so wanna' guess where I am on Government Permits for Selling Food Stuffs? Next you people will want to rent spaces for Elephant Ears, flags, t-shirts, key chains, and batteries. Why not just CATER the whole...

Commerce on the Playa?

DO see the need for the sale of ICE. Do NOT see the NEED for the sale of coffee. DO NOT BELIEVE THAT ANY OTHER FORM OF COMMERCE SHOULD BE ALLOWED. This non-commercial environment is part of what makes BM unique. I buy an extra ticket every year to be sold, or gifted, as the event approaches. When it...

Hi ALL -- Santa Here -- Guess it is time for me to speak up. Even though the BRIBH will not be on-playa as a separate entity this year, its presence with still be there. There are several people that are working behind the scenes to insure that our FAMILY will remain. At last count, there are at le...

I bought a trailer to transport mine.

You could rent a 5x8 open-air trailer from U-Haul for the cart and your gear.

Should be an easy clean up after the burn at a carwash.

ANYTHING with a motor needs to be registered.

If you have a legitimate Handicapped Status from your home state, you can register as a Handicap Vehicle without making it a Mutant Vehicle.

BASIC thing to consider

BM is NOT an event for visitors to MERELY watch everyone having a good time. IF your parents are the kind that WILL GET INVOLVED and actually contribute to the community -- they should have a good time. IF they are going to: Have something to do - SEE what you find so interesting - Check it out - H...

Master Morality & slave morality

Always thought that a human-sized hourglass would depict this.

Transparent tops and bottom with seats along the walls. Top would be reserved for Masters and bottom for slaves. The orifice would be large enough for either to "become enlightened" and move to the other category.

Just a thought.

Rooftop Deck

MoonPuppy -- If you remember the problems from Santa's Rampage 2006 -- make sure the trapdoor is large enough for ME -- and easier to climb than the ladder I fell off of that night...LOL.

Santa's rampage 2006

Wednesday night was supposed to be the annual Santa's Rampage starting out from the 9 o'clock plaza. A few Santas and elves showed up, but most were lost in a very short time. Proved to be an exciting night for ME, but they always are...LOL. Am "planning" to have a Santa's Sleigh this year, due to ...

Last year was awesome. Found that I was really getting into smacking asses...LOL. Was definitely one of my high points last year.

Wondering why you didn't get the presnt you thought you should?

Come ask SANTA.

If I understand what you mean by 'built environment' correctly, then I would say the U-shaped rollercoaster at BM2004 was an experience that fell right into place with what I feel about BRC. Please take into consideration that a considerable amount of tequila may have blurred some of my recollectio...

HIYA JELLYMAN

Had to think for a minute to remember who you were. TOO much playa-dust and soot clouds my brain sometimes. After checking your site, I see that I should have applied 'paddle-logic' more often last year. FORGOT TO CHECK THE OIL? = Major Paddle Time. If this, or other similar, infractions occur in y...

What 'IT' were you thinking you would find at BM?

If you were thinking you were going to find IT there, you need to define IT. If IT was a weeklong party -- you got IT. If IT was an open environment to express yourself -- you got IT. If IT was sexual freedom -- you may have gotten IT. but If IT was the state of mind that so many veteran burners se...

Bad Press has really hurt attendance at burningman---NOT!

I saw the Leno Show that night, and like others had mixed feelings. First I was impressed that she lasted a whole two days without her entourage and cases of Perrier. I hoped that from the bad press, there would be fewer 'non-burners' in future years. Observers are non burners. I was a little depre...

Looking for pics of Santa

Hi ALL- Had several pictures taken of ME (The Real-Beard Santa) and various fellow burners again this year. Would love to be able to add them to my collection. Many were impromptu shots while meandering around the playa. Some were from the Friday Night at the Black Rock Oar House event "Take Your P...
