Best TZ?

Well...what was your most memorable, or most frightening, Twilight Zone episode? Perhaps I can incorporate it into next years costume.

OK here's a story sort of

Lydia I do partially agree with you and thought about the contribution aspect while writing earlier post. As a BM newbie I was often the most clueless one around, so unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) I can't exactly satisfy the topic, though I can tell a story that comes pretty close. One late ...

The blather and run crowd strikes another one down

Yo Princess it seems you really need a chunk of bandwidth to chat with your friends but how about confining it to that other topic, the one you started that has nothing to it except the word "oversexed" in the subject line, a word that failed to spawn anything the least bit juicy despite god knows h...

Nevermind what I left there. what did you take away?

When I drive down the boulevard in my local neighborhood I see driveways one after the other piled with playa dust, bicycle mud chunks and playa crust from old hippy busses. The median altitude (and perhaps attitude) is falling annually. What's YOUR excuse? This all tells me that Burners are moving ...

"It's pretty myopic and more than a bit patronizing - wouldn't you agree?"

Ahem...I would most certainlyagree, dear chap!

Erm...what was it you said exactly? Sorry it's late and I couldn't follow...

WHOEVER'S ADDING THE 2003 IMAGES

Thanks a million to whoever is adding and uploading the images of BM 2003 on the main site. I love coming home from work and seeing that two or three dozen more are there to view and enjoy. A further nicety, the new additions are put at the top of the sequence, so as you page through, you see the ne...

Maybe not so negative

I certainly have picked up on a lot of negativity here on the e-playa but the event itself seemed pretty positive to me, though as a newbie I have no good old day memories to get nostalgic about. Last night I went to a deco party and chatted with about 20 others who were there 2 weeks ago. They rang...

What's up *with* all those *asterisks*

Jennifer, interesting *topic* but with all due respect, I must question your seeming *passion* for asterisks! Are they meant to add *emphasis* like italics? Maybe they are more *akin* to quotes and refer to comments in other posts? Reading your previous post, I felt a certain choppiness *that* inter...

TimberNala, loved your post

My wife and I lost our cherries also, and our experience was very much like yours. We had no idea what to expect but were delighted at every turn. No problems at all really and we're planning on next year. It was fascinating/sad/wonderful watching the steam of dusted burners gradually thin out as we...

The Hammock-mobile

A big THANK YOU to the folks on the hammock-mobile, who gave my wife and I a wonderfully enjoyable ride/tour back from the Esplanade on the night of the burn.

Kicking back in those hammocks while cruising the Playa was really a magical treat.

Yep, Pinky's was excellent

The cats and kitties that built and ran Pinky's did a super job, I loved it. Congrats to you all. BTW Thangbotche, I ran into the hill tribe gal at coffee central one evening and we chatted a while. I was surprised to hear that she was actually Japanese and not really familiar with the story behind ...

P.S.

BTW, I might mention that the washing water was not just for cleaning our bodies but for cleaning cooking/eating utensils, ice chests, shoes (yes shoes) and other artifacts of desert camping that got plastered with dust and/or mud.

1 and 2

My wife and I concluded:

1 gallon of drinking water per person per day.

2 gallons of washing water per person per day.

Note: we like to keep fairly clean - we thoroughly washed twice dailly - and she has long hair which requires a bit more H2O to keep clean.

Hope that helps.

Loved the Dave Train

I rode the Dave Train from way out on the esplanade to center camp and then toured around a bit...it was a blast.

Loved the good cheer and fun ride, hope to see you again next year!
