Next year's tickets will be made of the actual scalps of all the people who scalped tickets this year.

Yeah, it has nothing to do with her hypothetical other campmates. Did you not invite her to camp with you b/c you maybe wanted space? Did she feel rejected or just feel it as a need to be independent, need her own space? Are you monogamous or are other kinds of agreements in place? TLI (too little i...

Re: Selling STEP, Buying STEP?

STEP isn't even open yet, and non-scalpy people with an extra ticket may still be thinking "I'll try my friends first, then go with STEP after that." Whereas we ticketless souls already know we are ticketless. Hence, not necessarily a meaningful poll result.

I just want to say that I *totally* complained about the Glastonbury ticketing system. This was way easier on my personal psyche, even though I didn't get any tickets, than sitting there on the computer trying to hit the queue at the exact stroke of noon.

Re: Secondary Virginity

no, not afraid of planes; Flightless is short for Dodo :-) One of our tiny cadre in 2007 was not looking where she was bicycling and severely injured her knee. I had to drive to Reno to meet her at the hospital (and the poor ambulance driver had to get out of BRC in a dust storm) and we missed a big...

Re: Secondary Virginity

Oh, totally joking about my hands finally healing (though they really did hurt for a couple weeks after I got home). We did try rinsing in water with a little vinegar, but I will be way more vigilant this time around -- and perhaps even wear work gloves for setup and tear-down!

Secondary Virginity

hi, i'm Flightless (aka Dodo)... I went to Burningman in 2007 with 4 other ignorant virgins and we had a partially fantastic, partially cataclysmic experience. Now that our hands have healed, a few of us are planning to try it again in 2012. I'm tentatively planning to drive from D.C. again, and try...

Re: Suggestions for Easy Art Project Created by High Schoole

I think asking students to submit ideas for the artwork is a great idea. If you go through the galleries from past years, you can see lots of examples of different types of materials, interactivity, etc. If the end product isn't itself interactive, you could also have postcards or a big piece of can...

I have another (unrelated) first-timer question. I've read about "Exodus" but I haven't seen anything that tells when we HAVE to leave by. Is it OK to hang around longer at camp and avoid the big traffic, or are we all supposed to be out of there on Monday?

thanks!

So, now I am thinking she would not fare so well in this sort of environment. I've rea...
