Re: Black Rock Municipal Golf Course and Country Club
I can't wait to see this happen. Love golf at home and I have always secretly wanted real golf on the Playa. I may have some extra clubs to donate as well.

Like one morning, we were at the pyramid in 08 watching the sun rise. Flatulent Temple was playing some psy-wobble at 6am. then, all the sudden from a block down the Esplanade, a sound camp that is almost as loud (or they were in our direction) was playing Here Comes Sunshine by the Grateful Dead. ...

I say if you're a virgin......just go and have fun. Leave all expectations at home. Go and listen to some phenomenal DJ's, enjoy the art, meet some amazing people and eat some fungi. Don't get yourself too involved your first year. Just enjoy. You nailed it! Your brain will be exploding in every di...

last year we brought a couple mackie stacks with mackie moniters. We had considered covering the speakers with sheets but thought that it might deaden the sound and could be bad with heat and all.....just wasn't sure. Ended up using a dryer sheet like cloth generously stuffed inside the cones as a s...

Probably won't need too many glow sticks this year. The moon will be nearly full the whole weekend. It should be bright enough that artificial light won't be needed. If the conditions are right you might need sunglasses at night. You'll need sunglasses during a full moon night to look at our camp. ...

that beats the crap out of my shower curtain idea. The way our platform is designed will allow easy attatchment of just about anything. Whether it people or a huge stage curtain, it shouldn't be too difficult. We are gonna have the inside completely air conditioned for anyone that wants to come hang...

thanks for the referal info. I'll go read up. The idea is to bring the party to people, instead of them have to find a party in the blistering hot sun. We'll find a non suspecting (suspecting is totally cool too) subject/camp/group and party AT them. We will be moving the van from point to point but...

Mobile Stage - Still looks like a van
So I'm goin to BM for my first time. And going with a first year theme camp crew. A few of them have been before, but most are totally new to the playa. We've got our shit together for the most part, but something has been brought to our attention I'd like to get more opinions on. We've taken a late...

griffin products are pretty decent quality. I manage a Radio Shack here in Seattle so I'm pretty familiar with them. The FCC has a hay day with FM transmittors so they are pretty well toned down. They work great if they are right next to their transmission source. I'm sure like you said phil, they c...

those are great ideas. :-) thanks for the input..... after speaking with a few others I'm debating whether I should even bring the stuff or not. I know it's a huge risk and my cd-j's are my livelyhood. It would kill me to break them lol. A good friend of mine has an idea similar to the "DJ BUBBLE" m...

CDJ's vs Playa Dust
So I really really really wanna bring my CDJ's to burning man (this is my first time), but I can't think of any feasible method of keeping playa dust out. I've heard of a few contraptions explained verbally but haven't ever heard or seen anything else. I looked through 7 or 8 pages in this thread bu...

Hello peoples- My name's Dewey. I'm a total virgin to BM but know way too much about it (from so many friends that can't get enough of it) to NOT come this year. I'm bad with describing myself but I love to meet new people. So far I've never met anyone that's been to the playa that hasn't had a life...
