Actual single ticket cost

What's the actual cost of a Main Sale ticket? With all the fees, taxes...a percentage of this and a percentage of that... I'm coming up with about $508 and change. Is that right? Thanks!

Why not buy one? You can find a decent bike at a yard sale for $5-$10. Also, there are the Green Bikes.

Re: Should I go for presale?

The most reliable way to get tickets to Burning Man is to be a hard worker, good at something, and be willing to share that with others. Then become an essential part of a group project. Nobody cares if Joe Rando can't make it to Burning Man and doesn't get to see Skrillex fight in the Thunderdome....

What's sterile technique? Boil the water first? I've been using distilled water and saline packets for 6-7 years.

How do folks feel about keeping to the BRC speed limit of 5 mph? Or are motorized personal conveyances exempt from this?

New rule: before a birgin can join a theme camp they must (for their first year) live in a tent, bring and prep their own meals and provide their own beverages (short of what they are gifted).

Great idea? No...I didn't think it would go over, either.

Don't bother. You can go over to Hookers and Makers camp. Sit out front and watch guys stick their dick in the electric Glory Hole. They do it on purpose. Don't waste any valuable time on mean pranks.
Electric Glory Hole...there is such a place? Asking for a friend.

I was able to walk short distances and ride my bike. Your ACL surgery is prolly much more invasive, so can't help you there. Also, everyone's pai...

UPDATE: During the Theme Camp Symposium the lady who is heading up Perimeter/Gate/Exodus attributed the Exodus road condition to the unusually wet winter...created a thicker crust that when pulverized by several thousand vehicles resulted in the bone-crushing ruts.

Just repeating her comment.

One of the best ways to get your bike taken: don't lock it when using the porta potties. "But I was only in there for 10 minutes!"

I bought a 9' x 12' grommeted 80% Aluminet to toss and secure over the tent. Stuff is amazing. YMMV, but I thought it made a big difference in cooling shade. Now, in 2017 as hot as it was, everything struggled to make things cooler...but this stuff worked pretty well.

One thing I did notice is that my inner pad was mostly dry. My drip ring works fine as far as wetting the outer pad, but the inner pad was only wet where it sat in the water below the big holes. I'm thinking to get the inner pad wet I'd have to run a second drip ring. Yes? No?

Re: cooling your tent or van

Dragon, if you indeed built it to spec with the correct fan (check the *exact* model number) and pump, and are still not getting good performance, here's some troubleshooting: blue pad cylinder should not touch the inside of the bucket. There should be a gap. The pad slouches when wet, so if you ha...

It's hard finding a no-mesh tent, but maybe one with the least amount. I ended up stitching sections of old wool blanket to the mesh and that went a long way toward minimizing the dust sifting in from above. Worked quite well.

Be sure to have about a quart container of white vinegar and a spray bottle...1:10 vinegar to water ratio...playa dust is almost magnetic,..sticks to everything and even a hurricane force blower will not get it all. Vinegar/water does the trick for those hard to get places.
