No nightmares but definitely dreams, one or two a year randomly and a few more than that this time of year. Usually it revolves around trying to find a camp spot but it's an indoor event and I'm wondering why the fuck I even want to be there. Except the one dream I had a few weeks back about the Sta...

The last thing I want after the long drive is some overly happy greeter in my face saying 'welcome home, have a good burn, blah blah blah'. Just give me the damn stack of paper that will sit on the dashboard all week and get out of my way.

Or another option which I've done in the past few years is camp as close as you can to misfit and dig a small trench and very carefuly splice into his not so main and wrap with electrical tape and saran wrap and re-bury. I've been spotted doing this every single time but nobody seemed to care.

People show up to the burn on their bikes and park them at the back of the crowd away from everyone and wander off to wait and watch the burn. But more people are going to show up and pretty soon the bike someone thought they left behind the crowd is in the crowd and in the way. I can do without the...

People spend time, money, blood, sweat, and tears on all sorts of projects art cars included. The effort it takes to build something, transport it to the playa, have it work, and get it back home is enormous. The experience of doing just that is why people go back year after year after year after ye...

In my experience candy caning rebar is not difficult at all, it pounds into the playa just fine with a good size sledge, removal is easy using a crowbar and small peice of 2x4, nothing sticks above the surface that needs to be coverd by a plastic bottle or tennis ball, it's easier to attach ropes an...

Thrisft store or look for a cheapo bike from Wal(suck)Mart. The fatter the tires the better, try and get a big soft seat or buy a bigger seat and replace the existing, your butt will thank you, and a basket is helpful too.

Mesh material you can get at a garden supply store, I've got it at OSH and Home Depot before, forget how much but waaaay less than aluminet. Comes in 6'x30' rolls, usually tan or blue mesh. Use a grommet tool to make grommets along the sides. It's been working great for us.

2 steel pipes about 3' in length, your foot, a garage floor, and a little effort. I use 2'x3/8" rebar and bend about 6" of one end over.

I prefer the J shape myself.
