Your comparison of the situation described at the beginning of this thread to your family's behavior would be slightly, slightly more relevant if, upon being thrown out, you had taken all your things and gone to the home of a neighbor, with whom you'd had dinner once, and demanded to live with them...

It reminds me of the time when my family told me I could no longer stay in their house. I had lived with them for fourteen whole years since birth and just worn out my welcome, I guess.
