This was my first burn...

As I'm sure several virgin burners, upon returning back to reality for the first time would say, there is NO POSSIBLE WAY to relay the complete impact of our first time. My vivid memories are woven amongst random interludes of chilled-out numbness, so bear with the cryptic descriptions you're about ...

I was in the camp with the 17-year vet that Chad mentioned above (the "wife's" best friend)... I have to 100% agree with Mr_Understanding when he says that getting smashed allows US to open up to others and not the other way around. I too felt like the vet (my uncle) could have been more welcoming, ...

Hmmm... I would say that "my" Calvin was in his early 30's, but I'm not the greatest with guessing a person's age. Around 5'10, maybe a little taller, on the husky-ish side. he was wearing a sort of outback hat and didn't look playafied in the least (unlike me, encrusted with playa mud and dust). H...

Since it was my first time I was blown away by practically everything, but I really liked a couple of the smaller things best. The glowing eyeballs were great, and one afternoon we saw a guy just riding around on a motorized loveseat. Now THAT was ingenius! Unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity...

I received so many wonderful gifts that it's hard to choose just one... So I won't! I think my #1 favorite was seeing the double rainbow after Friday's tremendous dust storm. After sheltering myself inside of a very hot and dusty tent for who knows how long, the rain and resulting rainbows were the ...

Okay, since Chad wrote basically everything I needed to say, I will just say that I'm waterlyric (from Sacramento) and this year was my first Burn. Funny, I camped with a Chad... Anyhow, I too love the idea of being able to connect with fellow burners throughout the year, sharing anticipation of the...

I mixed up a couple of packets of Emergen-C with water per day, and it kept me misery-free. Between that and all of the water consumption, I was good.

I just returned home from our first burn, and I was with a couple who had their 7-year-old daughter along for the trip. It was amazing how many people came up to us to talk with Reese, to offer her special gifts and water. She had the time of her life, and really her main source of entertainment dur...

Calvin from Lafayette, CA - Anyone know him?

We met while watching the Man burn and shared a moment . He and his camp mates came in the same time as us, late Thursday night, and Calvin was taking lots of pics with his digicam. We talked about how amazing it was to be surrounded by people who actually knew how to say "please" and "thank you" -...
