Lost purple kid-sized flip flops on 3 between c and esp

Saturday near dusk we lost a pair of purple flip flops, kids sized, on 3:00 between D and Esplanade. They worked their way out of my pocket and by the time we noticed and backtracked we couldn't find them on the ground. Not the most important thing to get back, but my kid would be happy. If you have...

Re: Advice for securing camp sculptures to playa

Lag bolts are pretty easy to pull straight out of the playa, I do that by hand with dinky little pliers. They're much more resistant to shear forces than tensile. That's why people add a couple of chain links to their lag bolts to offset to transfer the pulling force to a shear force. The pillar cou...

Re: 2 main sale tickets and one vehicle pass offered via Lyte.

So, looks like I'm going to the burn. Wife's been getting exited at the thought of not being able to sell her own tickets and made arrangements for family to take care of things at home. But that leaves me with a weird arrangement of tickets. Generated a new Lyte link at $950 for the full package - ...

Lowering price to $1100 for the package and sharing a Lyte link. Set price using 'recently sold' listings on ebay. Taking a loss already so open to offers, etc, just hit me up.

2 main sale tickets and one vehicle pass offered via Lyte.

Kids and animals came up so I'm selling our 2 tickets and 1 vehicle pass. These are will call main sale tickets and can be purchased directly through Lyte link for $1385. Lyte adds fees but I don't know what they are. My cost was $1592.88. Open to returning the VP and just selling 2 tickets via Lyte...

Dang! I've been thinking about you, R1zero4 being stranded in Vegas. Saw your post on Spark too. It makes me happier than it should to see you and Kkat_86 work that out.

Re: I have heard that vehicle passes are easy to come by a few weeks before BM. True?

In my experience yes, it's not hard to find one and there's not much competition to buy them. But you have to be looking. I'd recommend getting familiar with placed people offer them, be engaged and ready to respond when they get posted. Post requests or mention to friends you're looking for one. Th...

Re: Anyone make their own moccasins

I've made moccasins before but haven't worn them on the playa. I think they'd stand up well to the surface but don't provide any cushion, and probably don't hold an insert very well. I'd be concerned they'd transfer too much heat from the playa to your foot, that you'd sweat too much anyway, and the...
The OD of 1" PVC is 1.315"
The OD of 1" EMT is 1.163"
They won't fit in the same connector. EMT is pretty cheap anyway.
That's a pretty clear answer. Thanks for pointing that out, I hadn't considered that the outer diameter varied between them.

It's a no-go on using PVC.

Re: Using EMT and PVC for the same shade structure

Below is a quick sketch, with blue being EMT and red PVC. I didn't think about the PVC vibrating out of the fittings, that's a good thing to know. My thinking in doing this is that maybe some of the lateral segments might only need to be a semi-rigid spacer while the more solid EMT frame absorbed th...

Using EMT and PVC for the same shade structure

Considering the difference in cost between EMT and PVC I'm considering mixing the two together to build a shade structure, and wonder if anyone has attempted this (and lived.) Some combinations I'm considering: 1) 1" EMT for verticals and 1" PVC for horizontals, 10'x10'x30' flat top tarp structure. ...

Re: Can you leave a ticket at willcall for another person?

This is a late reply, but for the benefit of anyone else looking, yes you can leave a physical ticket for another person at will call. At least this has been true in years past. When you leave the ticket make sure you correctly spell the name of the person picking it up. A camp member of mine was on...

Hello, my car broke down barely out of Reno, now I need to get to Fernley to borrow a truck. I would really appreciate it if anyone leaving Reno now or soon could pick me up and drop me off in Fernley. I'm at 702-803-0132. Thanks!

A necklace with three years worth of temple ashes inside of it. I felt amazing receiving it. She let me sleep in an air conditioned yurt afterwards and a full night's sleep fel...

Input on minimal yurt like idea requested

Generally a hexayurt has enough space for a few persons to lay down, some storage and a peaked roof allowing a person space to stand up. I know they work mostly by reflecting most sunlight, insulating the air inside and keeping the ground underneath cool enough for it to provide some additional cool...

I looked for a more specific thread for this but came up short. I'm a guy but I just found this and thought it was a perfect replacement for a pee funnel on playa, a little plastic device that let's you flat out pee standing up. You could use the urinal in a porta. http://www.sheweeusa.com/shop/

I don't think anyone is to blame for ever taking a ticket offered to them. There should never be any guilt, we all understand and would do the same. The BMORG still seems to be at fault for giving in to pressure and changing courses mid stream in a way that's less fair to the overall community. I do...

I propose a simpler solution: First come first served open sale, no tiers. Christmas pre-sales and low income possible additions to this. This is fair. An alternative: You get a percentage not to exceed 2% M-f and 1% Sat-Sun, void on public holidays and select blackout date of undisclosed determinat...
