To safely get to the Reno airport for an 11am flight, I would be packed up Saturday before the Man burns. Then in my car leaving the playa no later than 3am.

The Sands from what I heard is pretty good. Last I checked it was $29 a night and a lot newer than the circus circus.

The i80 just near the CA/NV border is pretty messed up right now. Un even surface, single lane with barriers on each side. For that reason alone I would do the 395 if it were me.

Ride your bike in advance. If you have not ridden a mile on your bike in the past month your gonna have some serious bike butt by day #2.
