Re: Place to leave car in Reno or Fernley?
Sands or Circus circus both have free parking lots, may want to look for signs regarding overnight parking. Silver legacy, Atlantis or Grand Sierra I would roll up to vallet, tell them you have a reservation later that week and need to drop the car now. A $20 bill will go pretty far with vallets the...

Re: Playa Trike: second thoughts
I rebuilt an identical trike for a buddy of mine for 2010. We extended the forks by 10" and made a cooler holder behind the seat. It worked great for him, even with the trike not having a "coast" feature or any brakes he loved riding that thing around (we were missing some parts). It was easy to spo...

Re: Freeways in Reno
The entire I-80 is scheduled to be re-surfaced in Reno from what I understand. The company that won the bid is well known for shutting lanes down and closing traffic down to one lane even when no work is being done to the road. So look out for cones and long lines from about Keystone to past the 395...

I'll second Miguels although I haven't eaten there since last month  In South Reno there is a "Taqueria" right off the freeway at Double R, opposite direction of Walmart. IMHO better than super burrito. Miguels is good, but Murrietas on south virginia near Inn&Out is incredible. Betos and Taco...

I had no idea it was there until I read this thread and I walk past there daily. But I will confirm they are still there. Pretty well hidden on the side of an apartment building. One block from the river on 1st and Ralston. Bunch of other great food places just up the road on California Ave near Vir...

Get your Technician Amateur Radio tickets, and get a pair of Yaesu tri (or quad) banders, 5-7 watt range. Used mine for years out there, would never go back to a FRS/GMRS rig... preset your channels, and you can stay in touch easy peasy. I think mine cost something like $279... and you can find the...

Riding lawn mower for MV?
I've been looking off and on for the past few months for a descent (aka cheap) gas powered golf cart to use as a base for a MV. But recently I have been seeing a ton of nice relatively new riding lawn mowers in the $200 and $300 range. I'm wondering if others that have used the mowers as a base woul...

I found the camp down the block from Hushville which played White Supremeist music very disturbing. I don't know if it was a joke or performance art, so I have to give them the benefit of the doubt. Still, I didn't feel at ease about it at all. I should have gone and inquired. Yeah the guy in the H...

Their presence did not directly interfere with my burn. But.... it did annoy the shit out of me that they were there in such numbers. You will want a bike for the playa. You don't need one but they are nice. But this is very last minute... There is reno bike project which is downtown, there are also some thrift and pawn shops on Virginia that have put their selection of bikes out for sale in the last few days. In a pinch, $75 to $...
