I'm a burner from New Orleans, can I send you some Mardi Gras beads or some such to help bring some Crescent City to Black Rock City??

NOT to mention.. Plagina. :: shivver :::    We saw a couple on the final Sunday last year going at it on the playa, that was all I could think of ::shudders some more, ick!:: Last year I wore a combo of hiking boots and slip on Vans all week and my feet were fine! Hey, Y'all - thanks for responding to my thread! I currently live in the Lakeview area of NOLA, I used to live in the Bywater . . . I just got my tickets to B.M. and would love to connect with any fellow Crescent City burners either here or in Black Rock City Red Beans and Ricely Yours, ZDKitten (a....

I'm hoping to be able to escape the BP Oilpacalypse this summer and make it to BRC (as I haven't been there since 2007) . . . any other burners from the Crescent City gonna be there?? I'd love to hook up and share some gumbo and/or some refreshing Pimms Cups! Red Beans and Ricely Yours, ZeeKitten Ne...

I make rune stone sets out of Fimo (or similar, other brand names like Sculpey) clay. It'd be easy to stick a jewelry pin through individual stones and bend it to a loop at the top so that you could hang them on necklaces. Then you could hand them out... The clay comes in a wide range of colors, in...

I didn't encounter them, but did encounter another art car that denied us in favor of a private party - it made me sad enough that I didn't even ask any other art cars for rides and that was one thing I really wanted to do on this, my first Burn . . .

What Sparklebutt said . . . This was my virgin Burn after many, many years of hearing about BM - so not only did I call upon my outdoors/camping/backpacking background, but knowing that this was unlike any of my previous experiences - I also did exhaustive online research (consulted friends who are ...

We actually found one of the quiet areas while walking around, Hushville I believe it was. Heya, Batmoose! I wasn't camping in your area, but I've bumbled on this thread and I'm so sorry to hear about you and your wife being forced out of your camp and your Burn. :( Hopefully, you guys will indeed ...

This was my first Burn and I thought that this part of it was a wonderful gumbo of exquisite spirituality/ritual and wry humor. I was viewing the temple burn just to the left of the Trash Teahouse Temple and it not only had its chimes and bells gently sounding, but a group of people were playing Tib...

Aren't they great?! Albino is a kickass band from S.F./Berkeley and they tour around NorCal quite a bit - I've been lucky enough to see them twice up-close and personal here in Nevada City. Thus, I was all a-twitter to have them play for us at the CT Afterparty in the redonkulous dust/rain storm - w...

This was my first Burn and thus my first CT ride . . . so here's my two centavos worth: I thought that it was a great thing and something I hope to do every year. It was really beautiful to see women find their bravery and be willing to bare themselves (some only just at the last minute before getti...

One of our campmates was watching it next to a French pyrotechnic guy who had assisted the Crude Awakenings group with the explosion and he said that they were using totally new propane jet technology with it and they weren't sure what would happen with the "L" shape of the pipe . . . but apparently...

it sucks for people like me who are going for the first time and couldn't be there at the start of the week. hopefully they can get it somewhat together by sat. night. :( Amen, Sista!!! This is my first burn too and I guess the horse underneath this horses**t is that after I get there tomorrow, I c...
