Spilling my heart
Hey Everyone, I'm not worried about loosing my job or child. I'm also not worried about the image coming back to haunt me. I just don't like having my photo taken w/o permission. I also don't like having my conversations recorded or my letters photocopied w/o my permission. Just as our photographers...

If you don't want your picture taken, stay in your tent. Or at least, look blah and unimaginative. Yup, sums up my feelings about as good as can be said Do I understand this correctly? If I want to be heard on radio I should be radio host. If I want to be seen on the TV or in movies I should be an ...

Camera Repair Camp
I think a camera free zone is cool - but real hard to enforce without some major volunteering. I was thinking about a simple symbol that means "No pictures Please" a red sash? Black bandanna? bring out the hanky codes, but make it obvious on a participant. thoughts? What about "Camera Repair Camp"?...

Knock Knock
They are as effective as pollution offsets that PEPCO's power plant in Alexandria can buy from plants elsewhere that emit far less than the rules allow. The folks in Alexandria still have to deal with the fumes and dirt. They are as effective as carbon offsets burners buy so some guy in Mali will p...

Burning Man philosophies
There seems to be two different Burning Man philosophies. The first sees Burning Man as an escape from the default world. A place where people leave money, politics, problems, and common people are left behind. A place isolated and removed from the rest of the world and its man made problems. The se...

I had a few ideas
Vending Booths selling BM memorabilia. Brand all the streets - "A" street would be "American Airlines" Street with their logo and everything. Sponsored by stickers – slap your favorite corporate logo on everything you see. Ice Delivery - Buy all the ice from camp artica, then resell it at a higher...

Burning Man 2008: Revolution
Bring democracy to Black Rock City. Over throw the Brutal Dictator Larry Harvey and his evil regime the BMLLC (BMORG). Free the people of BRC to choose their own theme. Stop dangerous Beta Beta Kappa insurgents from attacking our nation. Restore the right of women to walk naked without being photog...

I have been trying to collect info about BM to determine if it is something I want to participate in. The most common response I have received is: Burningman is what you make it! If this is indeed correct as so many claim, than that also implies that for those of you who claim it sucks it is becaus...

burningflyer scares me. Let me know where burningflyer is camping next year so I can be sure not to sneeze in their direction. I'm sure there is some sneezing law they will find online.

Re: Calculate Carbon Footprint + Buy Offsets to GREEN THE MA
Calculate Carbon Footprint + Buy Offsets to GREEN THE MAN!!! This year, there is much more discourse than in previous years about "walking the environmental walk." The theme is Green the Man, and BM for years has been a model of Leave No Trace ethos. But this yea...

Infidelity Offset
In the spirit of Burning Man's pop-culture, carbon neutral, 2007 goal, I invite everyone to also offset another activity through an equally stupid scam: http://www.cheatneutral.com/

Burning Man Revolution
Perhaps a thoughtful group of Burners will look to the American Revolution, Boston Tea Party, and other battles to fight off outside control as the source of their inspiration. Perhaps Burning man needs a revolution. The powers of King Larry and BMLLC (BORG) should be given to the people of Black Ro...

Re: 2008 "American Dream" theme

This is my first impression. Curious to hear your thoughts.
Yet another stupid idea from BORG.
BMORG is disingenuous. If Burning Man were really a non-profit organization I would have no problem with the name. But since it is an LLC, I think it shoul...

Burning Man Community
If Burning Man is really a city it would be the only autocratic city I know of in the US. I would like to see the Burning Man community become more involved in the event. Why not vote on the theme? Let the people of BRC handle Paul Addis. We should have influence over the costs of ice and where the ...

To some it is more
To me a party is a party and simply meant to be enjoyed. [...] you think I am not good enough to join your event but you will always be welcomed at mine.
To some Burning Man is more than an event or a party. It is a community that they literally call home.
