I believe they will continue to build temples at bm. They've become an integral part of the event, and Mr. Best has taken some years off before. As I understand it, there have been a couple temples David was not involved in. Not clear on which years though. I myself have contemplated building or bei...

Re: Sour experience with Skinny Kitty
A good half an hour later, some late members or friends of the camp arrived and instead of booting the latecomers some hippy hag came over to me and said she didn't recognize me so we needed to get off. I protested, told her of our prearranged checks and attempts to be rational and pleasant. She wa...
Paul Addis should be fined the Price of each and every ticket minus his own that was bought for this years burn....and then he should be forced to spend his next burn working with the DPW on 12 hour shifts...the punishment should fit the crime.
I had the exact same thought. ...

Dude, Nok! We've been streaming your "Area 709 Radio" on two machines in the house for a week straight. Fantastic mix! My ears have not been bored once! :) Several of our friends have come through and been taken by the stream as well, and have asked about it. I've emailed the link to several of them...

Aww, nobody heats food on the engine block anymore? Get that can deep in there and set it on the exaust manifold. Works better if you just drove somewhere, but idle will still heat food fairly quickly. Different engine displacements and running conditions will heat up differently though, so check yo...

I thought the DPW was insanely cool, and this is not my first year. Besides the reasons above, I have a personal DPW story to share. My friends and I were out by the Trebuchet on Monday night (post burn), waiting to see piano's learn to fly. It ended up being postponed on account of bad weather. The...

Doin the nasty, playa-style.
I didn't see any of that this year, but in '05 I saw a couple do a rather tasteful display by silouhetting themselves on the wall of their tent. You could clearly see what they were doing without seeing them. Very nice. Art x Performance; I think it's a little of both. They are, after all, performin...

They took something that was not broke, tried to "fix" it, and blew it to pieces. Great analogy! I just pictured the guide as a steam turbine at full tilt, and this years "improvements" as a small stone getting sucked in... Hmm... That visual might be a bit specific. But that's what I would compare...

I found that my Ren Faire gear was appropriate out there. I totally agree on the comfort tip; my shirt was loose-armed and white, and my pants were similarly loose (dare I say baggy?). Floppy cap and WWII Aviator goggles completed my comfy daytime fit. People are saying "Nice costume!" but I reply "...

Now THAT's an effin' cool idea! I used to have a couple of those collapsers when I was a kid. A giant one would be sweet! And if any wiseass decides he's gonna climb on it, you can hit the button and...

God, I wanna clean all their ears out with a power drill! What a bunch of ignorant "experts" fox has on their staff! No black people? Rich white kids on LSD? Who are they trying to kid? Well, their loss I suppose. Anyone foolish enough to believe that crap probably wouldn't fit in well at the burn a...

That's definately one thing I could do without: Asshats with bullhorns. Ya can't understand half these mic-swallowing braggarts anyway, and the stuff that does come out clearly is rarely nice or welcome. My friend Fenris said it best... "Bullhorns are essential to being obnoxious". Too bad so many d...

Trying to find times for some of the events was impossible too. Ended up missing the first half of the temple burn (Was told it started at 10, but the fires started at 9:30). An event listing should have the time and location tagged on it. This year the burn wasn't even listed. dubyaTeeEff mate? Her...

I wonder how suprised he would have looked had the flaming sculpture fallen over on him? It amazes me how quick people are to touch and test things, even knowing that they should be hot or fragile. I had a few people actually come up and roughly grab and handle the wings on my dragonfly art car. Eve...
