The first year I went I had a drug infested Burning Man. The 2nd year I attended I stayed clean the whole time. Both my experiences were amazing with graet equality however they were two totally different experiences. I would never take either one of them back or change how I did anything. If I atte...

Nothing lame, wrong or dull about this post. I haven't attended burning man since 2004 but as a women and I understand your views. While I recall very little problems myself when I attended (although i did have a few) it wasn't enough to bum out my experience. I'm sorry you feel as if it is just lik...

Hello all. My name is Tears. I am 18 years old and have been to burning man two years. Within those two years I have worked for the Lamp Lighters as well as The Lost Penguins. Sadly this year I will not be able to return to my dusty home, but I am hoping to return in 2006 :-) Happy and dusty trails ...

What happens when we do not use a gift we were blessed with. Any gift really, such as painting, drawing, writing, things of that nature? Can a gift as such suddenly vanish from your body? Can we lose interest in a gift we were blessed with? Is it cheating the world if we do not use the gift we were ...

I have watched my mother slowly slip away and fight for her life, only to pull through and slowly start to recover. I have found courage I did not know I had. I have held down a home, and a job, taking over as leader of the house. I have moved a whole family and home into another location and still ...

My favorite "gift" was the honor of watching and participating in the dedication, cleansing and ritual one of the temple theme camps. It was beautiful and over overwhelming. I felt so at peace, so at home, so honored. It is a memory I will never forget, although we were not allowed to take pictures,...

As *I* preceive it this has not been over the course of just one year, it has been long comming, however it is simply more profound and noticed by a larger group this year.Hoodie wrote: BM hasn't changed *that* much in a year -- the foundation of awesomeness is there and hopefully we can all tap into that.

Cluetards and newbies are gaining the upper hand. Unfortunately, the two seem to be fusing into the largest demographic attending the event (> 50%). The ethos of BM is being dilluted with perceptions of the event being garnered more from second hand information and media reports than from the true ...

I've been reading so many posts regarding negative experiences this year. This was my 8th year, and I had an amazingly wonderful time. I am convinced now more than ever that our camp, and my campmates, are the best. In a way, I'm glad that people have difficult times and choose not to return (I wis...

Re: Negative Burn
Well here we have a year where there are too many people, violence, a lack of art, too many restrictions, not enough tolerance, a nonexistant theme, and the whole place filled with spectators......IS THIS THE END? After 8 years of attendance, I fear that BRC is going the way every town goes....towa...

I have been reading and also speaking with many people about the 2004 Burn. There are many dissappointments and negative experiances. FAR more than in 2003. 2003 was my first burn and surely out of the two, the best, even for me 2004 was an odd burn, I do not want to use the term "bad" it was just.....

I heard A LOT of rap on the playa. I found it... interesting. I have never actually sat down and listened to rap before, but I did on the playa, and its not so bad after all. Something I learned : even when you are light up front to back, some drunk guy on a bike will crash into you and brake your t...

A few girlfriends and I were belly dancing in a drum circle, our outfits at the time were not exactly belly dance friendly so we were slowly taking them off, simply to enjoy our danceing more. Most of us were lost in the music, My eyes were closed and the music has taken over me, when one of my frie...

Let's hope some other casinos and hotels offer a "Burner Special" and take a little of the heat off the Phoenix because when I got in around 10, it was a madhouse. I'm thinking of putting in a word to that effect with the Reno Visitors' Bureau and see if we can spread things a little thinner next y...

Well, you are wrong about me, I know the hard work that goes into it, the time, money, the days spent for set up and tear down. Our camp wasn't as successful this year as it was last year, but things like that happen. As I said, I understand your babble, however I feel it is directed in the wrong pl...
