What employers are Burning Man friendly?
Hi everyone, Given the uncertain times, many people are re-evaluating their place of work (by choice and by force). One thing I've been curious about are companies that either shut down during burning man week because so many people leave, or encourage employees to go. It would be a nice thing to kn...

Hey MerkinMan and others . I'm a drummer, bringing my own drumset, looking for a place to park it and play for any number of days during the week (it's not welcome at my camp). Would love to play with other DJs or musicians. Been playing 25+ years, jazz funk influences are Weckl, Steve Smith, Erskin...

goneguy: There really isn't anything you will run over to pop a tire out on the playa. The most common reasons for bike tire failures are worn out tubes from old beater bikes that finally give out under the heat and weight. New bikes and tubes work well and should not have a problem. Most people fin...

Save you car's air system. Turn off AC/fan on playa.
TIP: For those who value the cars they are bringing to the playa: If it isn't too hot and it doesn't make you crazy, turn off your car's AC and fan and all air circulation as soon as you leave the paved road. Do not run it at all while your car is on the playa. This will save you from having to repl...

You could bring a different bike. I leave my good bike at home, and buy cheap playa bikes. Here's what I've done over the past few years: In the few weekends before Burning Man I go look for mountain bikes for sale at garage sales. I look for the ones that people have kept in the garage for years an...

Avoid bike flats. Deflate tires for the trek to BRC
Tip for people who are driving from California to Burning Man: Deflate your bike tires for the drive along I-80 E before you leave Sacramento. The change in altitude as you gain 7000 ft to go over Donner Pass has been known to pop some fully inflated bike tires. There's nothing worse than arriving a...

Looking for DJ SIMPLE possibly from Ass Blaster Caster
Hi, I'd love to reconnect with the DJ and get his demo CD again. It was awesome but got lost before I got contact info. I believe that I met him guest DJing at a dome between 7:00 and 9:00 on the esplanade, and it was next to Electroshock Therapy. Here's what happened. I was there Friday night with ...

Drums/Drummer looking for DJ or other music performers
Drumset seeks new home with other electric/acoustic performer(s). Drummer included. No assembly required. I love my camp, I love my drums, I want to do both this year, but they unfortunately will not mix. My camp is quite chill, doesn't have a stage, nor is live/dj music "appropriate" with our theme...

Good question. I'm not good at music classification, but it was good ass-kicking electronica dance music. The DJ was a white male wearing a red and black outfit and I think he was around 5 1/2 feet tall. (geez, that sounds like a police description) I searched flickr, and found a photo that is near ...

Looking for the DJ on that Friday night
Hey everyone! Here's a longshot sleuthing request. I'm looking for the DJ that was playing Friday night along the Esplanade somewhere between the streets 7:00 and 9:00 and the venue was like a simple small half dome that was open facing the playa that could only hold about 20 people. That night ther...
