Re: New car fees and more great ideas

I'm fairly recognizable in my suit and tie and captain's hat… but the boat can be spotted easily from a hundred yards away. Even Eric would be lost in the crowd from a block away. At night there's zero comparison. Not using my own photo isn't so I can hide or be anonymous, it's just the opposite! I...

Re: Vehicle Passes and Burning Man Traffic Issues

I think it would work better to offer a discount for carpooling. Then it would be read as " i can have $40 extra bucks to spend on booze if I carpool" instead of its going to cost me $40 bucks to get there if I'm lucky enough to have a chance to buy a pass.

Everyone loves a good discount.

Re: Vehicle Passes and Burning Man Traffic Issues

I would pay quite a bit more than $40 to pitch in to have Jungo made drivable instead.... this would cut traffic through the bottleneck by offering another route and would shorten our drive by a lot. Two roads in and maybe a zig zag back and forth like cattle pens to get to the gate would probably g...

I have nothing useful to add but I wanted to say I think this is such a wonderful idea and I really hope you see your vision come to fruition. I'm not in a wheelchair yet but I definitely have mobility issues and seeing the passion others put into the thought of providing an experience for those of...

Re: heavy duity accessible MV?

a few years ago, I built an accessible MV "Tongue Rider". it had a low platform in front, on castor wheels, and would carry two wheelchairs of any size, at once on the platform, and 4 riders in seats onboard the Mule. Powered by an army "Mule (M274)". I had one individual in mind, but they didn't s...

Re: heavy duity accessible MV?

I agree 100% that a bus would be easier in almost every way, I just want to give a higher view than one can get from a bus, the military truck is one of the highest platforms designed for the weight potential of the passengers that we can get and modify easily.

Re: heavy duity accessible MV?

I want this art car to be something that doesn't scream utility, and I want the people that have the option to ride other art cars to want to ride this one too and give the people that need it a chance to see from a higher view. I think that's key, and I'm so glad you're doing this. I am really gla...

Re: heavy duity accessible MV?

I REALLY want to avoid the bus... Its burning man... if I were in a wheelchair and had to ride buses in default life and then went to the playa and again had to ride a bus while all the other people were riding fun art cars and climbing things to see from a better view I wouldn't feel very included....

Re: heavy duity accessible MV?

First of all, you need a commercial driver's license to drive that truck and if you have one you already know all the shit I'm about to say... but if not, for the hell of it, I'll blab anyway... The loophole for driving a bus without a CDL is getting it titled as a motorhome. That truck can't hitch...

Thanks, I sent a PM to The Rat Lady. Fucking Freebird. Just... horrible. Everything else was just lovely though :) I keep waiting for someone to explain this, but it doesn't seem to be forthcoming. DPW lost a core member of their group this year. The playing of freebird was a tribute to him and was in no way meant to be any form of a ...

I will post a picture after I wash them so you can see the real color instead of the playa color. I would love to dye more things, that was my first and you have me addicted.... I will have to read through the thread to see if you mentioned what dye you had on playa and maybe expand from there.

I pulled my childhood hula hoop out of the garage and have started using it, its the standard plastic type with the rattle inside, I can get it to go around me fine but if I try anything at all that changes the tempo it falls past my hips and once it gets past my hips there's no saving it! Re: Powering LEDs

The main thing that the extended remote does is change the channels of RGB in smaller increments so you can get more variations of color out of the strip. Come to think of it, on the playa it wouldn't be as big of a deal as in a house. Since it refracts so much off of the walls and fills the house ...
