Velvet On The Playa

How well does velvet (of any kind) hold up to the dust? I know a hooded cloak of velvet would never be the same again, but what kind of different are we talking about?

I'm looking for tricks and tips about cleaning it when I get home, and would also like to hear some experiences.

Found: Navy Blue Sweater

I found a sweater that looks to be home-made. It's navy blue very soft and fuzzy with light blue piping on the edges. It's wrap style, with a pointed hood and bell-shaped sleeves.

It saved my frozen ass one night, and I would like to return it to it's rightful owner.
