Just get a second set of batteries, and swap them out when you get back to camp.
Charge while out on adventure.
But really this is why you don't get electric golf carts for the playa..

Re: floor covering - rugs? foam mats? bones of the dead???
Ikea sells some small cheap area rugs, I've seen a few people use them with success. Having multiple small rugs, allows varying placement, and also the ability to lift and shake out during the week.

This didn't look too safe (can the dome support that much weight, how many people)? IMG_7100 (480x640).jpg I climbed another similar looking structure out at 3 o'clock and J. I learned from the neighbors it's affectionately called the colapsatron, cause last year.... yep, it came down. Good thing i...

Re: Large EMT camping shade structure - advice needed
if you change your tarps for another material that allows air to pass thru you can eliminate alot of weight, and expense.
Aluminet, camo net or shade cloth are all viable options, and allow your structure to breath. - Very important in the desert.

spend the money on a Honda you won't regretted it! I bought a used eu3000 for $1200 - 5 years ago, I brought it to the playa 3 times, plus used it for general camping/regional events all the time.... I just sold it for $1300. (downsized to a eu2000) Yup, that math is correct, i used the thing for 5 ...

Re: Camelbak versus Water Canteen
i bring both. the canteen is attached to a shoulder length strap to put around my chest, or waist. very minimal, and light weight. The camel back is loaded with all the goodies needed for a prolonged adventure. It can get heavy, and cumbersome. Plus it's always in my mind to not forget it. So basica...

Re: Build railing on top of shipping container?
Weld some bolts on the angle iron that forms the top corner, bolt rail to that, cantilevering the rail post down the side of the container. You can grind them off when you sell the container. If you set the depth on your drill, you can drill the top edge angle iron in the spots where there is a neg...

Re: Vodka Redbull Slushy
Sounds like you want to, get ahold of a gas powered blender.
That will make this alot easier.
Also I might suggest saving a few dollars on red bull, and get the Costco brand, its a little better tasting with vodka.

last time the disco duck was at BM it was rumored to be a VIP type MV, doesn't surprise me the rumors persist.
Are they just rumor, or the truth, who knows..
But as for it being a trailer now, sounds lame.

There is a propane fill station at the new gas station in Cedarville - http://surprisevalley.us/rabbittraxx.html I'm not 100% sure they had propane, but i'm about 98% sure. I seem to remember seeing it when filling up l...

I own a 32' 4V dome that's made from 3/4" conduit, and I regret not making it with 1" The bars tend to bend ever so slightly, and if there is any kind of unforeseen force, like some random raver climbing on it it can have destructive effects. Just last year at our Summer Regional event, the dome got...

Cedarville has a nice new Fuel Station that sells Propane. Also I have worked on an art project, in 08, that had a scheduled Propane refuel on playa, so it's possible. It was a company that was contracted and paid for pre event. then we just had to be at the art piece at our pre determined time, to ...

Looking for CLassical Japanese musician
I'm working on a project, and I would love to connect with a Classical Japanese musician. It's for music, to be used in a film we're creating from our BM2012 experience. Either in person, or online.
