Oakland Style bbq... I like the idea of the smoking with fruit wood. In KC we generally smoke with Mesquite and maybe a bit of Hickory as well. I love me some Q so I might hit one or two of those places while in the area. We get in early on Sunday and leave on Labor Day so I think we have time...

We used this in 08 with rebar and didn't have any problems. I know that there have definitely been stronger winds on the playa in the past, but it seems that enough people over the years have successfully used this as a dependable structure...

Had no issues with wind even in the storm on the day of the Burn in 08.

I wouldn't say that I think about it EVERY day, but it is definitely a constant source of inspiration in my life. Whenever I am having a bad day, or am dealing with one of the multitude of assholes that live here in NYC, I think about the Playa, the community, and it keeps me going... Also helps tha...

Great idea! Nothing like having a drink in the morning. Beer and eggs for breakfast is one of my favorite combos. An early morning bar with good conversation and mellow vibe sounds like a perfect addition. I say do it.
