Live stream of the burn (cross-post)
Hey, I am cross posting this from the 2009 art and performance. Basically I am trying to find out if there will be a live stream of the burn and/or conclave performance. I seem to remember that current TV did this last year but I am not sure. If anyone can confirm or deny the existance of such a bro...

"Hippies are the bane of America. They are responsible for the Liberalism that makes us weak on defense and putty in the hands of people who don't deserve our respect like Mexicans and Muslims and gays." Clearly this Marshal fellow is full of not only rightousness and patriotism, but wisdom as well!...

Simon -- what exactly do you guys use to power that 800lb sound gorilla? A nuclear reactor? I could only stand to be in that dome for about an hour before I had to leave...my ears ringing and intestines thoroughly rearranged:) I will be sure to stop by again this year, and maybe I won't be such a pu...

glad to get such a warm reception... remember folks music is a subjective thing... you would be surprised at the scope of my music collection... it just so happens that phish is one of my phavorite bands and has not played together in over 4 years... as of yet i have not shit on anyone else's parade...

To all you Phish heads out there...
As you may already know, after a nearly 5 year hiatus, Phish will return to the stage and have announced 3 dates to be played at the Hampton Coliseum on March 6,7, and 8. So to any fellow burners who plan to attend, or who may need a ride, I will be driving from the eastern shore in MD and will pass...

I saw the jelly fish art car at the jelly fish theme camp during a party they threw on wednesday night (apparently they received a grant for a documentary they were doing for the Discovery channel...and this may not be the name of their camp; forgive me if I am misrepresenting them)...it was pretty ...

Re: Yes, please, keep the assholes disinterested...
Could not have said it better myself...kudoshoneyfire wrote:If the piece that Travis Kavulla wrote keeps other people like him from coming, i'm down with it.
I don't have a big problem with tightasses telling other tightasses that the Burn is not the place for tightasses to go.
That is all.

Actually, AntiM, this has all been a valuable learning experience. When I said I was proud, that was because I was still under the impression that such behavior was not out of line, even condoned (obviously, more extreme "operations" have occured in the past). Am I less proud of my actions now that ...

Look, I am not claiming that my camp is special, or entiled to anything anyone else is not... In my experience, not just from my camp mates but virtually all of my neighbors I talked to, before the "deed" had even taken place, the reception I received after explaining the circumstances, was overwhea...

Look, since the vibe I am getting is that I am in the foul, I have decided not to sneak anyone in this year, and I probably was not going to anyway. Forgive me for trusting the judgement of my campmates, who have been going for years, who assured me it was no big deal, they do it every year...we are...

Ok, fish, you caught me... Really, I was on this "coyote" trip...it's the art theme's fault, damn it! Or maybe I have been watching too much weeds...the whole adventure was just too irresistably tempting to pass up. Perhaps I was out of line. Personally, I don't think it was a big deal, but obviousl...

And honestly, just about every camp I talked to had stories of sneaking someone in at such and such time...I just assumed this was standard practice. If you can afford the ticket, of course you should pay for it (as I and just about everyone else I was with did...). Some people can't but can contrib...

hey, if you want to give me grief for that, it's fine by me...between me and my camp mates we spent about 3K in tickets alone, and gave all week...so yes, I brought in one of my friends who has about 200K in student loan debt and couldn't afford her ticket. It was my gift to her, and my risk that I ...

This is a reply both to jackmack and americanfremin...I am sure you will both understand the context and there is no need to address you seperately... That is so cool! I wished I lived in Portland so maybe I could have made it to your party (the thing with the boomboxes struck me as particularly clever)...my dusty bags are still at the foot of my bed, so every time I wake up I am reminded of, well, you know... Delmarva burners...I know you are out there!
Ok...I am on the mailing list for the Balt/Wash regional group as well as the Jersey/Philly/NY group, but as far as I know as of yet there is no local group for the Delmarva penninsula. I figured, why not start one myself? There are some areas around here with great potential for a decompression eve...

eek! That is rather pricey. I am guessing the fabric is what costs so much...I am pretty sure I could construct something for cheaper, the question is what fabric to use... And so the quest continues... Good luck in all your endeavors; it seems like things are shaping up already! And still 340+ days...

I like the design of your shade structure...I was thinking about doing something similar at my camp this year. I have seen kits like it for sale on various sites, but I was curious as to whether you purchased yours or built it yourself. Also, what do you use for the center post? Is it one piece or m...
