Re: suspending shade mesh between two RVs?
local Fred Meyer / Kroger has hollow 'water noodles' for under $2. great chafe protectors. also pieces of garden or heater hose work well. edit to add: get enough aluminet / shade cloth / camo net to totally cover the space between and the vehicles, and hang over the outside = no rope burns on the ...

Re: suspending shade mesh between two RVs?
Also, what are some good suggestions for guy wires?
I was originally looking at 5/32 parachord but that will stretch right and the shade may droop a bit.
What other choices are there.. what about just straight up 12ga galvanized wire? 100' is $6.

suspending shade mesh between two RVs?
Is this possible? We have two 37-40' class A RVs that will be parallel to each other and we were wondering if it was possible somehow to suspend a 20x30' piece of shade net between them? Most shade structures I've seen use pvc or metal poles to make a frame for the shade to attach to with zip ties o...

bdeywoo: on the online placement questionaire you are told to specify your frontage and depth requests in 50' increments for avenue/street placement. There is a table that shows what the choices depending on the area you want to be in. That is where the 50' comes from. We aren't looking for Esplanad...

question about theme camp dimensions
I'm working on our theme camp layout.. We are requesting street/avenue placement by 9'oclock and according to the questionaire you must specify your top three choices in basically 50' increments for the frontage & depth. So a couple drafts later, it is looking like 50x100 (5,000 sq ft) is too tight,...

Both Root & Opulent both are both awe-inspiring, but the one that consistently made me giddy was Robot Heart simply because it cou...

Penny Arcade described it best with Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory which states: Normal Person + Anonymity + Audience = Total Fuckwad Considering that there is an annual meet-n-greet, there is no anonymity; so that sort of puts that equation out of balance. JK Mandatory attendance for al...

Oh and I'll add my own experience.. My camp brought a Yamaha 4000 wt genny last year..built a nice box for it and I would say it was still a bit too loud so we tried not to run it all that much. We had a seal dome that we have a few ACs in as our community area for a fairly large camp so sound wasn'...

Back to the topic at hand, it looks like we've gotten more rainfall in BRC so far in 2009 than in all of 2008 (..and the only rainfall there was in Nov after BM 2008). Let's cross our fingers and hope for better conditions this year! Check this to see what I am talking about..then change the yearly ...

I'd suggest the opposite - take the extra $$ you would have spent on the towing rig and buy a newer, more reliable base vehicle you can drive there and back. The MV I built has driven up and back the last 5 years. The only problems it's had were ones that would have happened on the playa anyway. Do...

Our camp just acquired an MV from a previous burner who took it to BM five years.. it was called the Ambience Ambulance (based on a mid 80s ambulance conversion) if anybody remembers it. I think 2006 was the last year it was there. It definately still looks like a vehicle but maybe they were more la...

heck with that, I'm looking for convenience where I can get it.. I couldn't believe they actually televised the burn.. when we came home, our parents said they had watched it on TV. I was like WTF?! I have mixed feelings about this as I feel almost as if you should have to come to BM to be able to witness it in all its glory..but in a sense, all the TV coverage a...
