So its about to be that time of year again as I'm sure you all know and I am working on putting together a worthwhile shade structure for me and my hearties. I'm thinking about buying a silvered tarp and putting that under the aluminet to provide better shade. It seems that if I do that though it would defeat the purpose of having the aluminet as its unbreathable and make my structure into a sail.

Well... I just called to try to modify the order and it has already been processed and sent off to the warehouse so it looks like I am getting the aluminet. Would it still be a good idea to back it with a sheet or some shade cloth from home depot?

Or maybe I should just scrap the whole order and go with something more low-tech like a silvered tarp?

I had one more question I just thought of as well... what is the difference between 70% aluminet and 90% black shade cloth? Would the 90% shade cloth be just as good as the aluminet or worse because it doesn't block as much of the IR?
