I kinda feel like an honorary Loafer. My camp was about 75 feet away from yours....but I couldn't be bothered to actually get up and go visit you. If that's not loafin', I don't know what is! You had a great looking castle though...nice work!

Tuesday nights could work, actually. I have a very spacious and comfortable practice studio in the East Bay. To be honest, I'm not sure if I'll be burning in '09. I am DEFINITELY going in '10, though, and whether I go next year or not, I'd love to meet and start working with some local players...eve...

Official Bay Area Musician Burner Thread

Here it is folks. The title says it all. OK, so maybe the title doesn't say it all. So I'll type some more. Please post here if you play, and go to Burning Man. I'm hoping to put together a really special musical project to take to the playa, plus it's always good to meet other musicians in the area...

Arguing, or "battling" as you put it on a forum IS hiding behind a fake name. I've seen a lot of people taking the piss out of each other, but for the most part you can tell it's in jest. At least, I can tell it's mostly in jest. Irony seems to be lost on some. And again, I'll say "mostly". There ar...

I am exceptionally pleased at how little dust got into my tent. It was a decent REI tent, and I used a fly. Virtually no dust penetration whatsoever. I guess you get what you pay for. I forget exactly what I paid for it...around $150. It was one of the "Half Dome" models. The salesman sold me on the...

I came by when the table was out in front - what clever people you have in that camp - I was particularly fond of the Bronze Age merkin. Very stylish. Actually, that was the OTHER Merkin Dream camp! (they did have some very cool merkins on display there!) We were on Gremlin, and we were gifting mer...

Thanks, Toolmaker. I had considered caster wheels, but I hadn't seen anything I felt was playa-worthy. Some of those roads are pretty bumpy! But then I haven't shopped as extensively as possibly for them either. I'm also all about re-use, so that's a great suggestion.

Building a cart for moving sound gear to/from the playa...

Hello all! Still reeling from my first year at BM. What a blast that was! Anyhoo, down to business. Indeed. Like the sound of a kick drum and a high hat. Running 24/7. :P

I kid. I can't say I'm into the house/techno thing, but some of what I heard was not bad. And this is coming from a primarily rock-music lover.

THANK YOU for visiting camp Merkin Dream!!!

All of us at camp Merkin Dream want to thank all of our visitors for being such an awesome bunch of people! I would add that the creation of the list above required a considerable amount of time and effort, which seems contrary to the stated tenets of the Kingdom of Loafington.
