We are thinking of bringing our own hookah to use in our own camp, and to invite passers by to join us. Legal shisha only. We have heard there may be issues being seen. Should we be concerned? We are not affiliated with any organized camp

Re: Secure Ticket Exchange Program (STEP)
I am confused. All I need is 1 vehicle pass, and I tried to register for STEP to get in line for that. But that is not an option. I have my two tickets, but will not be able to use them unless I get a vehicle pass. I am not ready to drive 1000 miles on the hope that I will get one at the gate. Bummer.

Re: Vehicle Pass Problem
I just got through the queue and bought my 2 tickets. But there were no vehicle passes available. We camp alone, and need our car and trailer to get in. I do hope this is not a universal problem and that vehicle passes will come available. Else we will be putting our tickets up on STEP. I trust that...

Re: Elliot's Bicycle Service & Tap Room
Fantastic thread. I was through pages 1 and 2 when I realized that was so last October. Then I read back from 8 to 7. I am not sure what we can contribute, but I have done my share of playa bike repair - tubes mostly, but the occasional chain repair or replace. There is not much I cannot fix, short ...

Re: Vehicle Passes and Burning Man Traffic Issues
I don't want to be a pessimist, but how is 35K passes going to cut it? Everyone will horde and get the max passes (2) when they buy their tickets. it WILL happen, people horde $380 tickets, why not $40 passes? This means after the early bird sales, and the camp (15K ticket) sales, there could be li...

Re: CARAVANSARY
Yes, it looks huge...scaling something to twice the height means filling eight times the volume. I think it's definitely going to be impressive enough, and a worthy challenge for the Man team. It would be funny if they put a mini-Man on top of it. Hope it doesn't have a problem where it falls over ...

Our philosophy on burningman was to arrive fully able to support ourselves as if no on else showed up. Now that thought is just spooky, the entire playa, all laid out in streets and then just the two of us wandering through al the encampments and art. Headshake. We booked into Hushville to have a ta...

Hi Winebuff. Last year a woman from Portland set up camp right beside us. She came on her own, leaving hubby to care for her 4 kids. We kind of adopted her when she looked to be overdoing things as she set up her camp. We made her stop, drink some water, and mellow out. We are not sure if she is com...

We are Strange and Charm, the Quarks, and we camp in Hushville. Then we are free to wander anywhere in BRC, and experience what the wind brings us too. As others have said here.. don't plan it, experience it. So when you're together, you're a D s -meson? Sorry. Physics humor. - Jim Ds Meson, yes at...

Hi much2naughty I am sorry for all the diatribe that met your initial question. I can see that you have done a lot of reading and already have answers to the usual mundane issues like self reliance and desert survival. And it is good to see that you are getting some good advice too. Funny, if you ha...

Hi winebuff. We are Hushvillagers looking forward to our third burn this year. Just catching your thread lately because the burn is only a few short months away, and i decided to check eplaya. We are from BC, north of you, and drive down hwy 97 through the inland. What part of Oregon? Hushville is g...

Last year was our first Burn, and we hooked up with Hushville. It is a quiet camp, and no real expectations of campers but to take care of themselves, and leave no trace. We chose this because we really did not know what we would end up doing, and having a place to head for was comforting. Also the ...

This will be our first BurningMan and we are blowing the cash at rock star rates. So far the big thing has been our tent trailer, and all the accouterments. But also a ship load of sarongs and other light weight garb. And camping gear, and favours, and and and... We are having fun doing it all, and ...
