Re: Ticket information announced.....

The Hat, rest his soul, could smell the cheese back in 2012 when he devised The Cargo Cult for 2013. It was all planned, it epic failed. Now we get MM to do what middle managers do, tinker and tweak, when what is needed is revolution. We kicked out a PnP! YAY! Everyone gets 7% less fucked. We warned...

Re: Which new Ticketing Provider instead of Ticketfly?

I have not seen any announcement that would indicate a change in ticketing provider for the 2019 event. As far as I'm aware, they're still using Ticketfly (which initially was independent, then later acquired by Pandora, and more recently owned by Eventbrite). I'm sure certain aspects under the hoo...

No tweeks needed.

Someone in charge just needs to give a fuck.

Re: Ticket information announced.....

So just about half of the available tickets go to the cool kids via DGS. (48%) The poor and needy (gotta fill up Center Camp somehow) get 6.7% A third will be the main sale mob, Jane and John Q Public (34.6%) 4K 'rich fucks' with money to burn - Yeah, that will teach them! DGS created a privileged class. So long as that model persists, this will be a futile effort. Logic Fail: Jane Q Public - you get a random chance of getting a ticket. If you fail in the general sale, tough luck. Then you are told: “if you really want to go, you will find a way, network, hustle”. DGS...

DGS is what started all the decay.

So after reading here and elsewhere... The bottom line: The BORG doesn’t give a rat’s ass about internal camp finances. Folks complaining about their $250 sent the “wrong” message to placement. Missed opportunity there with their public pdf files for all to see. Mario is super cool and ignored all t...

Re: Towing with a UHaul moving truck or van?

Richard, you need to reset and break this situation down to the basics, then build up from there. First and foremost, no one in your group has tickets yet and there is no guarantee any single person will get them. Second, plan on half your group flaking between now and August. Your camper - is it a ...

Re: Towing with a UHaul moving truck or van?

I’m pretty sure U-Haul only lets you tow their dollies and car carriers with the box trucks. They are in general the worst of the worst. The pickups they rent can tow boats and campers. Detail is in the contract. Enterprise and Penske business divisions do rent full size trucks equipped for towing a...

Remember to taste the water before you fill up. We had a big jug of not-so-great tasting water that someone filled up near the playa. All things being equal, meaning availability of motors, controllers, batteries, etc. going 48V saves a bunch on copper costs to run all that torque. You should look at locked-rotor current on 36 vs 48 V motors, cuz that is going to drive your power cable thickness from battery —> controller —> motor...

Even if you select 1” emt, which is fine for 10’ lengths, 60’ x 100’ grid is ~ 200 sticks of 10’ conduit. It's also about 2100 pounds of metal for the conduit. Then you add in all the fittings, rebar, and tarps. It's a heavy duty trailer load or half of a large rental van all by itself. Yeah, That ...

It’s crazy that PGE got tagged criminally for the gas explosion but not for the dozens of fires it is found “negligent” in causing.
